Nice!Make their sealed boxes ported. A friend of mine happily uses 6 of them, each in a 200-liter bassreflex box, tuned around low 20s. He says it hard to breathe when he turns up the volume.
I considered ported @ 13-15Hz but didn't want to make any compromises regarding port velocity and GD. I can feel 10Hz with my 4 subs and that's good enough for me 😉
What is the volume of your enclousure ? Is it ported or Closed ? Did you fiber filled the box or not ? Regards PeterI've just built a dual 18XL1800 enclosure and it's integrated in my living room as the fourth subwoofer. I'm very pleased with their performance and I'm planning to replace my 4x 15" Visaton with another 4x Faital Pro 18XL1800. If I'd have to start from scratch I'd skip the 21" and choose this woofer for all my subs.
Here the combined response in my room.

Just to know: What is the enclosure volume ? Is it a vented or closed Box design ? Did you use any kind of fiber fill inside the subwoofercade ?I've just built a dual 18XL1800 enclosure and it's integrated in my living room as the fourth subwoofer. Hello Peter,
The dual sealed enclosure is 313L (156,5L per woofer/ QTC=0.61) and I used cheap bedding https://www.action.com/nl-be/p/2548180/comfibeds-4-seizoenendekbed/
This is the compromise that I made. I can't run both woofers at full power as they are excursion limited under 35Hz. But OTOH I only need half the power to reach the same SPL and X-max at 10Hz.

I was thinking putting the 18XL1800 in a closed 100L cabinet with no fiber fill but with 5mm rubber / Butyl at yhe inside wall's of the enclosure
By the way: What kind of amp's do you use the run those sub's ?

Here a photo of my build with extensive bracing: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...tension-how-low-do-you-go.395685/post-7660209
Why use rubber? For damping purposes?
I use Crown XLS2502 bridged.

The 313L volume, is this netto, meaning minus all the bracing you used and minus the drivers net air volume ?
Nice bracing!!!!Here a photo of my build with extensive bracing: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...tension-how-low-do-you-go.395685/post-7660209
Man, you could get alot more performance out of 313L than with a sealed enclosure.Hello Peter,
The dual sealed enclosure is 313L (156,5L per woofer/ QTC=0.61)
Nice bracing!!!!
Thanks 😉 I wanted a sturdy box and couldn't care less about the looks of the internals nor did I want to waste time on a perfect CNC maze.
What would you suggest that I could build? I have roughly 2000L at my disposal behind my TV wall. But once it's built-in the enclosure can only be accessed from the narrow side so 4x or 6x sealed 18" with woofers mounted on the left is the only possibility.

How low do you need to go?
2 Faital 18XL1800's sealed @ 313L with 1,700wrms (black)
vs.
1 Faital 18XL1800 TH @ 313L with 1,500wrms (grey)
I based the TH off the 70hz low pass filter mentioned earlier in this thread.

Nice!! Love it!!
At 19hz you need 2 drivers on BR cabinet to be the same SPL as the single fold single faital TH cabinet!!
And at 30hz a single faital hit 127dB vs 118dB of the dual faital BR box
Wow!! That's 9dB more with one driver !!!
No wonder people love TH's
Gotta love that chikin!!!🤣

If I can build 2x TH in 2000L that reach down to 10Hz I could be tempted. I also need to get comfortable using Hornresp 😉
With the actual sealed subs (21"+ 21"+ 21"+ 21"+ 18"+ 18"+ 15"+ 15"+ 15"+ 15") I already have a very clean and authoritative 20Hz reproduction and useful output from 13Hz to >120Hz.
with 800L can you get to 10Hz , too little volume right ?Cool!
