Received a pair of MAOP 10.2s earlier this week. Looking to settle on the first cabinet to build for them. Will be used with 6V6 PP amp (Poinz's Musical Machine), and future First Watt J2 clone, LuFo and Tokin SIT amps (I've got all the unobtainium sand parts😀).
What is your opinion on this cabinet design vs your TWTD-13.5T design when fitted with the MAOP 10.2?
From the YouTube videos with its limited sound quality, they seem close enough in performance, with my ears (possibly) giving a slight preference to the DDBH-A10. With your ears listening directly, do you have a preference to share?
Agree about judging ultimate SQ from a Youtube video. That is why I asked Nandappe-san for his personal ears-on experience. Maybe give me a nudge on which to build.
TWTD-13.5T is Nandape-san's term for Taper Wave Tube with Dampened Duct.

A ML-Voigt with the same folding as Scott came up with for designs FE108e∑ and one for a larger Fostex.
nandappe is churing out a lot of those boxes, i would check with Scott before i built one. We haven’t done any for MA.

If you have MAOP 10.2 (lucky you), but just stuffing them into enclosures will-nilly is not a good idea. ML-TLs and horns tend to be more cabinet dominant and any enclosure for A10.3/10p can likely be adapted (for a Pensil, teh A10.3 one).

Dear steve jones,
If you want to use a tube amp, I recommend DDBH-A10.
DDBH-A10's sound is a hard and sharp, so jazz and rock are great.
If using a tube amp, mellow sound sources such as classical music also will be even more wonderful.

Thanks, Nandappe. This gives me a good idea of which box to build.
Not sure what you mean their nandappe?
Could be something lost in translation?

Dear dave,
Sorry, I can't translate well.
I wanted to say, "Even if I use the same driver, the sound that comes out will be different depending on the structure of the box, the amount of damper, and how you use it."

We did a speaker based on that movie.

Those are not really useful.
The particular word “sharp” you used is to my mind not something you want in a loudspeaker. It usually means an unwanted HF resonance.
A good loudspeaker should be able to reproduce anything, but the compromises taken will often favour specific genres.

Hi guys,
I have a pair of FE127E in standard reflex cabinet and I'd like to make something better, but not too complicated as I have not so high woodworking skills...
Thanks in advance for suggestions

Dear dave,
There are many people who make use of the air recordings on YouTube.
In Japan, the general idea is that air recordings are more useful than words and graphs.
I think that is the time now.
