I have tried to build my final speakers. Well we will see how long I will keep them.
The construktion is for the Fostex FX200. The faceplate is to absorb a peek at 8 kHz. There are no filters or passive components between the speaker and the amp.

Nice. I'll bet they are hard to dust.
Cal, nice to see those boxes saved from the bonfire 😀
Below are Bernie's solid Locust build of the 2nd of my trapezoidal miniOnken, uFonkenSEt with the new FF85wk.

how thoes that sound?
did you use plans?
calculate anything?
Have you described the build? What do they sound like. Love the rough with the slick.
I Have An Interesting Idea
Imagine if the drivers in these horns were mounted in 160 Azurahorns instead of that black piece of wood. Now imagine the back of the drivers in the Azurahorns were connected to the throat of these horns, so that when you looked at them from the front, it would look just like two large circles.
Now instead of having the horn's mouth exit to the side, have it exit to the bottom instead. That way when you looked at the speaker the circle on top would be the driver in the Azurahorn and the circle on the bottom would be the mouth of your horn! I bet that would be interesting speaker, no?

Very nice bamboo boxes. You should look into magnets for the grill fastener, loosing those plastic grill sockets would push the aesthetics up a notch.

everyone: you continue to suck!
'cause all your builds are prettier than any of mine🙁
Great speakers all.

Thanks to all,
head1962,
They sound good to me. I made the plans myself. I calculated and build the horns 7 years ago using calculator and information from James Melhuish’ site.
Drivers are stripped and modified EX3; CC~3 liters; throat 75cm^2; effective length 3.5m; mouth 0.8m^2; profile Hipex M=0.8;

I have described the build, but most of it already disappeared from cyberspace.

thetubeguy1954,
You just described Azura PP horn, it was a very good idea indeed.
By the way, I am 1 hour NE of Orlando. If you would like to listen to my horns, it can be arranged

Hello Marekst!
I would love to hear your horns, but I'm disabled and take heavy-duty, narcotic painkillers which causes the very real possibility of falling asleep behind the wheel when driving long distances. If you wouldn't mind extending your offer to one more person, I could have my best friend and fellow Central Florida Audio Society Member, Mike R. give me a ride. Mike, like myself, loves horns and uses tube equipment. I use a 40W/ch, 135lb, integrated, SET amp and Mike uses an extremely moddified McIntosh Mc275 power amp with a custom designed, tube preamp called "The Sculptor".
Mike is the person who takes me to all Space Coast, and Central Florida Audio Society meeting that are too far for me to drive to safely. We a great arrangement, I pay for the gas & Mike does the driving. It's perfect for both of us. Marekst I, in turn, would also like to extend to you the opportunity to listen to my system: My Audio System. I look forward to your response and hopefully getting the opportunity of hearing your horns. Oh yeah I forgot to mention I own a pair of 160 Azurahorns I'm not using that I obtained directly from Martin Seddon when I traded a pair of Paul Butterfield completely restored & modified TAD 2001 drivers to obtain...
