Fedde, maybe you are suggesting the new response can be measured and re-converted back to passive for a self contained result that sounds the same as this. Good idea.
And 6 DACs. Worth the effort or cost? Well, if it sounds better...
Yes and 6 DACs
In the end was worth it
Next time with my cheaper speakers I will try MiniDSP. But I have to find 6 amps or 6 Channel amp?
I'm just starting and was able to do some measurements in HFD but did not find a way to combine near- and farfield measurements. There is a possibility to import measurements, did you look at that?
What I found usefull in HFD (4.9) is the possibility to set a flat frequency response. This way you can visualize different filters, Q factors etc.
Hi
I've just revisited this forum and came across your post. To set a flat frequency response in HFD 4.9 is very interesting. I have not found this in HFD???
What I will do when I have time is use REW to give me the "flattening" filters with their Q values, which I suppose I then manually feed into HFD.
I have not done any measurements with HFD, only ARTA. Maybe better in HFD?
Un/Muting, EQ de/activation, preset selection and volume level have direct effect (from the Filter Design window) as far as I now. Filters and different EQ settings need uploading to the connected unit.Hypex FA doesn't work directly, you must load settings every time, even better to reset to verify the changes. Only muting seems to have direct effect. I have used FA123.
