Hello Maurizio-San,
A version after 1.0 seems OK as of now. (But not sure)
CyberPit
If you are using a board version before 1.0, it must not. This is beacuse the U7 and U3 thermal dispassion is not enough. It will work for a short while but the device will break sooner or later. One question about the Octavia. May i use 12v power supply?

You don't need to short pots. You can leave it blank as it is. Just replace the DC value source instead of the AUXADC 0-5 in SigmaStudio. One more question. Is it mandatory to install the AUX 0-5 potentiometers? May i leave the pcb without and adjust the levels via sigma studio?
Do anyhow need to short pin 2 and 3 on the pcb if i do that?

Hello Pit.
Is my first time challenging with Sigma Studio. To be on a safe side i used a 9v power source.
Starting from your 3 way sigma studio project..may i remove the pots on it as well?
Many thanks in advance.

Hello Pit-San.
I got the last rev 1.01 boards from Ludwig. So..means should work on 12V as well?
Do you think will be better to add some heat dissipator on the voltage regulators?
Many thanks in advance.

Maurizio-San,
Here's a selectable example idea of SigmaStudio. The pot at 12 o'clock equals 0.5 DC value.

Good Morning Pit.
Here what i'm using to test the outputs..can you explain me the functions of the blocks you suggested to use?

Hello Maurizio-San,
Your test project is completely free from AUX ADC. So, you can leave the pot(s) as non-populated.
My suggestion for value-controlled blocks, that usage is as follows ...
1. Select the Nx1 selector equals AUX_ADCx
2. Adjust the pot as you like
3. Read the Level indicator's index value
4. Give the same value to DC2 block
5. Select the Nx1 selector equals DC2 block
After this operation, you don't need the pot anymore.

HI Pit.
Thanks for all you support.
I've an issue with the EProm.
I followed the instruction about how to write on the Eprom..seems that the compiled code was downloaded..but as i reset the unit is not loading. To let it work i need to connect to sigma studio.
Any adivise on it? Soemthing i need to check?
Many thank in advance.

Pit. I'd a look to the PCB.
I was thinking to have the AA1024-I/S Eeprom installed, but i've the 95256RT..
I used the setting reated to the first one..maybe is not compatble?
Do you know how i should set the parameters?
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Pit-San.
Thanks a lot. I checked with this configuration and it works.
But..just if i use the ADAU1452 as processor.
If i do the same based on the 1466...everything will work with sigma connected...but won't work on the Eprom.
Do i need to configure the use a different address for the Eprom if i choose the 1466? IS the HW configuration different?
One suggestion about the JP1 connector. Because is very helpful if you are in trouble with Eprom operations..in case of new improvements, i will replace it with a THT in line pin headers.
Would be quite easy then to short the contact using a jumper.
What do you think about?

The configuration connection chart processor type should choose the right processor that you are using.
It may generate different mapping codes.

Hello Pit-San
I've a question. Would be possible to get the dxf od the octavia board? I'm designing a case which should include octavia and class d powersoft modules.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Maurizio,
I tried to convert from SVG to DXF. But the scale is not correct.
Please re-Scale when you importing this data.
PS. .STEP 3D file was possible to export. (But too big to attach)

FYI
An improvement for all versions of FreeDSP OCTAVIA boards.
Removing C24 will reduce the ripple voltage contained in DVDD power rail.
More information can be found at the following link.

Hi,
for the users of York with Octavia: there is a known issue with USBi/other programmers when programming/erasing EEPROM thru DSP:
It rarely works, there are many discussions about this issue in other threads.
Today I spend some time trying to debug what goes wrong and found possible reason. I uploaded new communication dll for SigmaStudio which has the fix. If anyone has experienced such issue and wants to try - please get new dll (it is in the config tool package) from the website.

Does this mean it may also help when using other programmers than the York or only the York? As you know I'm not quite ready to test the York yet. It's waiting inpatiently though!!uploaded new communication dll for SigmaStudio w
Only York, unfortunately, because I wrote the code which implements the sigmastudio<->driver link, thus can change it. All other programmers are closed-source.Does this mean it may also help when using other programmers than the York or only the York?
Well if the York is stable then I might just use that as a programmer instead of the I p5 or USBi 😛Only York, u
