Folded horn sub for a Klipsch Heresy

The 18" BR bin was a freebie from a church. It's being powered by the Yamaha HTR-5730 on top. Basically, the Yamaha AVR is a 5 channel subwoofer amplifier now. Can you imagine if I had 4 more 18's!

How do they fare for home listening ? I think I saw a review for RV's big amp at ASR.
I went with PA speakers because of the good reviews of Behringer 15's and Mackie 10's on avsforum.com. I figured why not try some 8's. They were $92 a pair at the time, so I bought 4 pairs and converted my Onkyo 7.1 HTIB speakers to the Rockville SPG88's for 5.1.2 Atmos.

I needed to upgrade the basement 5.1 speakers, so the basshead in me went with the 7 LyxPro SPA-15's at $99 each to upgrade to 7.1.

My son has my Onkyo 7.0 speakers in his apartment. The Onkyo 10" subwoofer is in his bedroom 5.1 system in our house.

Gee - hope you're feeling better.

I've couple o questions on the 30Hz PT12 pipe.

The 3"x 12.5" mouth is at the very bottom ?

How about the dividing panel - should its backside start 6 inches from the inside rear of the pipe? What about the top of th divider - will that be ~5" in the top 3 spots ?

A positive flare makes the enclose bigger for the same tuning frequency.
Probably a 3-6db gain. All you have to do is swap S1 with S4 or S5 > Loudspeaker Wizard > turn on the auto segments and see the gain.

Actually, a single fold straight (zero) flare is the simplest TH enclosure to build. No angles!

Isn't the angle help to reduce internal resonances?
Paralel wall inside will make a lot of nasty peaks above 100hz?

That's the thing that puzzle's me
What's the pros and cons of the angled diagram freddi show vs this diagram that do not have angles. How it looks on HR, besides... the no angle is easier to build.

I'm hoping to trade that old 1tbx40 towards some cabinet build- and guess with a 4x8 sheet ~5 cubic feet internal volume for a tapped pipe 48" tll might be had (?)

I don't understand the use of Vtc and area - is ht just the volume in the cone for this case? - how about the are?

Maybe BP1Fanatic will design one for one sheet. If I had good health and could get around to use such stuff, I would make it like a hand-truck/dolly with two wheels to rock back and move

IT might be like this but somewhat higher cutoff 40V 2pi
