Hi LC,
many thanks for what you said, about the DPS-500, in practice it is the reality of the facts.
I can only offer the version DPS-500/DA at + /-52V. for other versions, buy on the shop AudioPower, as many already know, I certainly agreements but is not managed by me.
Congratulations for the excellent design and engineering of the PCB.
Regards
Thanks for the nice words, PCB is really something, took me many days to find the sweetspot of the layout.

DPS-500 +/-64 V version will try soon. 😉
Hi LC,
Did you try a single vs dual smps supplies for stereo?
Unfortunatelly not, I'm more like in dual-mono with perfect grounding variant, always. 🙂
But there is no reason why not to try it for yourself. 😉

Hi LC! Looks like a nice amp!
I have a coldamp sps80 smps (ColdAmp - SPS80: >800W Hi-end AC/DC audio switching power supply), would that be a good match for these amps? Its regulated +/-60V, 800W, 1300W peak.
Yes, very good SMPS, also perfect match for the First One.

Congratulations Lazy Cat.
A couple of questions:
Does the module need a "re-regulation" if one chooses a lower PS voltage?
Is this a limited time offer for the good mates here at DIY fora or do you plan an extended offer? In other words, do we have to hurry?
Excuses for being so direct...
Best wishes,
M.
Hi

Nice to see you here. 🙂
Well, modules will be pre-calibrated on +/-63 V PSU voltage, they'll work normally from +/45 V up, but that doesn't mean they cannot be on-field re-calibrated at certain PSU voltage to meet exact specifications. Installation instructions manual will explain it all, no worries. 😉
Yes, the plan is to produce more than enough modules for all the requests, so nothing to hurry about. 😎
Does it have an advantage to use a lower voltage (50v) if your speakers are 3-4ohm ?
Just asking because there's a discount on the DPS-500/DA and they are only 48-52V.
Already sent mail for 2 modules 🙂

Thanks for the order Danny.
No need to go to lower voltage, 3-4 Ohms makes the First One very happy. If there's a discount of few euros only, I would rather suggest you to take +/-64 V version. 😉
Hi LC, can you provide board dimension please, wana check if it will fit on a 2U heatsink
I m in for 2

Hi maxidcx
Dimensions (W x D x H):
100 x 50 x 40 mm
Also stated in the first post. 😉
2U height is perfect, output transistors on lower side in the middle, just provide the heatsink with temp coefficient 0,5 K/W or less.

I've seen in the vssa thread a really cool looking chassis, will that be available?
Two types of Al-cases in preparation, also one extra as a monobloc, so we'll have the price range to suit everyone. 😎
The one you saw will be in a higher price range, now in preparation for the first two modules, to be installed and presented next week. 🙂
how about a complete kit for this amp ?
Yes, that option was on my mind offering the cases here, as it will suit the SMPS + First One as a glove.

First One amplifier will be offered only as a finished, pre-calibrated module.
First One project will be more of permanent nature, so we could have nice list of delivery materials besides modules themselves. 😎
Would be good being possible to buy the full kit ( module + case + supply + hardware ) from you directly
Lazy Cat,
I was interested in building the VSSA but it ran out of stock, without the schematic First One I don't know the differences between the two. Please outline these differences if you can.

Agree on that, just let me organize around the start now and then we'll do as much as possible to satisfy all the needs and requests. I'm considering all suggestions very seriuosly, thanks.

Hi, look to post #13, all differences explained there. 😉
