I just ordered an Apogee Wyde Eye cable this morning.
Yes, I found it at TheCableCo and it fits my pocket 😎
Thanks you both for suggestion

The PitBull... Interesting, any explanation? Hmmm I think mine is called something like "The MoneySink"... For an explanation just read my parts of the saga..😀
An hommage to PitTracer....
Simularities with the infamous dog....small... heavy...a lot of power supply....and determined to win....
BTW just finished the evening with playing cd's ending with the cd
"Concerts in China from J.M. Jarre "
(the full concert on a single disc)
and I actually started to enjoy the contraption a lot more than yesterday evening....but I will hold my horses...

cheap transformer
Hi
Here is a transfomer for you:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/psho...2 v transformer&CFID=3098156&CFTOKEN=35052294
25.2 V CT; 2A
$2.88, I bought 6! I haven't tried them out yet, hopefully this weekend, but they are heavy.

Funny thing in Ed LaFontaine's transformer description - semi-toroidial.
How I love these marketing guys!

Hello Kevin...
I have now twice lost the signal to the digital lens and found out at both occasions that it was not locked...
I ordered 2 Allen Bradley 75 ohm I will get them coming friday 🙂
Also managed to get some blackgates for the power supply
So I can start at the beginning...

"The Pitbull".... did let go....... it does not want to lock with the lens anymore....so friday part 2.....resistors
😀
Back to my Wadia and enjoy .....
Hi Erik,
I'd seriously recommend 301/100 or 392/92 as the rated output current of the dsp IC is considerably less than 50mA, - basically it should be about 12mA or so - also two 75 ohm resistors do not properly terminate the source end of the cable which is now seeing a source impedance of 37.5 ohms instead of 75.. (The thevenin equivalent of your two resistors and the 75 input Z of the lens would be about 100 ohms hanging directly off of the dsp port with 4-5Vpp hence 40 - 50mA pk - still too high imo.)
The situation in terms of voltage at the load end of the cable is a bit better with about 1.6Vpp (still rather high, typical spdif levels with proper terminations are around 500mVpp) at the input, but with an improper source termination impedance.

Hi Erik,
I don't recommend using 75/75..the sound was grainy and noisy..sounded like it was overloadin my PDaniel dac

would 390/90 work? ..thats what I have on hand.
Thanks,
Rich
Absolutely!
😀 😀
Has anyone thought about try a different PNP for q902? Mine is labelled B764. The datasheet suggests a sanyo 2SB632K.
thanks

Username HOV sent me an email about getting two EZ31B. I tried to reply to him but his email is not working. Please hov send me an other email address and I can probably help you. Thanks...
Hi,
Does anyone have any of these left over in Australia? I've been looking around, trying to see if anyone still has them left over on the shelf, but I've not had any luck finding any of the appropriate models.
Thanks

Hi TheSEEKerr- check out JB hifi stores or GoodGuys-they may have some left on clearance. The last time i spotted them was at Campbeltown JB hifi.

Interested Check
For all of you whose interested in the platter and screw on cap for the shigaclone mechanism, I am able to supply. The cost is USD$50 including postage to any where in the world. it will be made either in delrin or nylon. Pictures to follow soon. PM me, from Singapore.

Hi Kevin
I managed to get my hands on a 300/100 ohm NOS Allan Bradleys
that will give a proper start.
He also asked if I would be interested in a "special" 230/14 Volts EI Trafo (housed in oil etc) he brings it along tomorrow.🙂

Re: Interested Check
Sounds interesting, any possibility of a simple tool (puller) to prevent motor damage when removing the old platter?
