Try a Grimbergen or Trapist glass for that kind of beer, it is paramount to the taste of it.

OK, I fully accept that the shape of the glass determines the aroma held above the surface. But what shape are you recommending? A tulip?

The most important shape/content is the flute for champagne. Serving champagne in a coupe (allegedly the shape of Marie Antoinette's breast) allows the wine to warm, and the fizz to disappear.

GRIMBERGEN.

Hi,

But what shape are you recommending?

All of the special brews have their own glass shapes produced for them.

So assuming you've never seen the one for Grimbergen beer try to find one that comes closest the shape of an elipse (egg shape) cut in half and put on a stem and foot.

Serving champagne in a coupe (allegedly the shape of Marie Antoinette's breast) allows the wine to warm, and the fizz to disappear.

Absolutely.:dead:

Cheers,:drink:

DEMYSTIFIED.

Hi,

no, no flaming just didn't quite know what fdegrove wanted... however i could flame you for not saying what fdegrove wanted to know... i love posting just for the excuse of using a new smilie

Geez,Helix....you didn't get the crux of my innuendo?

I think Zardoz did...it was the typo, the bottle and the Coca Cola glass of course making me wonder how many Grimbergen you'd had already.

Surely the fact that I'm a Belgian resident might have rung a bell?😉

Other than that that I see a Iiyama Visionmaster 450 and a Dell laptop...nothing I'd joke about.:clown:

Cheers,😉

OMG.. soz,

i totally didn't notice

fdegrove -> :headshot: <- Helix

Shot for being a dumbass !

It has been one of those days where nothing i have done has gone right today (not all my fault though).. must be monday

Made some goofs on X tech drawings ages ago at work and found out today.... after it was built.

I am sure it is this beer ....

Also found out last week that i am illergic to beer  :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: so now i just have a few goodish ones and stick to the wine/spirits

Oh, I don't know, I can only see 9 hours on Helix's timetable. Must be to leave time for all that beer.

Nevertheless, Heffe isn't all that amazing. It's still far better than Carling, but that only brings it into good transistor territory. For valve equivalents, I offer:

Pilsner Urquell: Flavoursome but reasonably delicate: EL84
Tsing Tao: Very respectable Chinese EL84 equivalent
Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild: Rich, and coloured: 300B
Brugse Tripel: Big, powerful: 845
Fullers' ESB: Precision and honesty: 6J5GT, 6SN7GT, 7N7

Miller Lite etc: Mismatched pair of AC127/AC128

on the square in front of the cathedral in Antwerp you can have a couple beers, moules and frites with mayonaisse -- this is what heaven must be like.
