I replaced the ordinary DSF10C rectifier diodes to BYV27-200 ultrafast recovery diodes in my Marantz ST-54L AM/FM tuner, and the reservoir capacitors too. But now I hear distortion for about 30 seconds after turning on the unit. What could be the reason?
No need for a fancy fast recovery diode at 50/60Hz. I can darn near jump up and down that fast.
While its 50/60Hz the switching off pulse is almost instantaneous.
I designed and built a valve/tube mixer.
I used 1n4007's and the narrow switching spikes were huge.
I had to use HER158G's to get rid of them.
Made my Poindexter P-P 6V6 Musical Machine with the specified UF1007 Ultra Fast diodes. Was wondering what the difference between them and UF4007 Ultra Fast diodes are. The data sheets look identical, and a web search found nothing.
