Just over a year ago, I built a pair of 80L sealed boxes for my Fane 12-250TC drivers.
They are powered by a 1W single tube OTL amp and are capable of rattling my living room windows.
To be honest, they are so good in my room, that I can’t see me ever getting rid of them.
On the end of a tube amplifier, in a big ported box (or even better, aperiodic) these drivers ought to sound stunning.
I’ll never be able to accommodate such big cabs, so I can only dream, unfortunately. 🙂
Hey Steve,
Can you share some details of your 1W OTL?
Did you build a PCL86 amp and post it on audio-talk?
Thanks,
Greg
Here’s the thread showing how the amp developed.Hey Steve,

I did build a PCL86 amp but it was merely OK.
Steve,
Thanks. I like your design, unfortunately, the 13E1 / CV6045 is a very rare bird, at least in the U.S.A.
How'd you like the minibeast? I thought about building it with 6P45S.
Cheers,
Greg

Fane do some good speakers in my experience.
I used 4 Fane 12-50WRMS in a mobile disco for a good few years.
Always sounded great and very loud.
I sold the disco.
A few years later I decided to take it up again so built a new disco but used Eminence speakers. I was always disappointed in them, they were never as loud as the Fanes despite having higher RMS ratings.
So sold them and went back to Fanes, this time using the Fane 12-250TC's.
For home use I have a 1980 Fane 12-50WRMS in a W bin.
