Com'on, your not that much of a NooB! Search!Who is "choky"?
But, I'll give you a hint: He was formaly known as...
if you want to make mosfet iteration - use exact schm from article
"second harmonic version"
increase number of LEDs to 3x green , plain ones , 3mm
good to go

To look at the open loop distortion spectrum was for me the ectrifying part in Nelson's owner manual....!
Up to now I did it only in the closed loop status...anybody informed enough to explain possible advantages to do it in Nelson's way, Mr. Pass?

Had anyone using sounds card with appropriate sw been able to show the residual signal like what Nelson did using his distortion analyzer. I haven't found any suitable sw that will do it.

Most soundcards will perform an FFT on the signal and that gives the display of the fundamental peak and the lesser harmonic peaks shown over the entire frequency spectrum. To show the distortion residual it's necessary to have either an audio precision, audio prisim, or some type of older distortion analyzer. I'm not sure if any soundcard software has a display of the residual.
You can look at the distortion with a simple (passive) twin T notch filter. It needs to be tunable to null the fundamental. Usually there is some attenuation of H2 at the output. Analyzers correct for this.
I always liked Choky, still wonder why he changed his username to...khm....(choking)..khmmm...
Sorry for off-topic, this belongs to Pass pub 🙂

Might be worth investigating the latest version.
