Interesting. Because, when I asked about differences between Plitron and Antek a few years ago, everyone said there was no difference. Some even said I was wrong for suggesting Chinese made parts generally have inferior materials and workmanship.
I think some people are biased by the perceived value when something is low priced. So they won't find anything wrong with it because it's cheap.
Or maybe it is me who has golden ears, or I was in a good mood 🙂 These are just words when don't supported by measerments. On the other hand, what is sound -- just properly modulated power supply, no? 🙂
Guys I m a few days away from powering up my tea-bag IRF kit. Any pointers on what to be careful with before powering it up and start playing with the trimmers?
do not take the 1.2V from source to gate serious..... the IRF need more!
and be aware turning up the bias pot, long time nothing happens and then you have a very quick rise, even with a delay when you try to stop it..... the same happens when you turn down....

Guys what is the proper way of mounting the CL60 thermistors?
Is it ok to use those double sided screw terminals with the plastic jacket? Do we need to use a heatsink for it? Or do we need something more special to be able to withstand the heat?

Screw terminals are fine. The basic idea is the resistance goes down when the thermistor heats up. So you want don't to use a heatsink.

Imagine it will be fine. I've seen pictures of them mounted in every fashion and never heard of any problems. Just don't cut the leads too short and don't let the disc touch anything.
I didn't like the idea of using plastic terminal blocks with a hot CL60 so i used the ceramic type instead, OK they are a little more expensive but you can never be too safe, you don't want to turn it into a real burning amp.
