OK.... back from Saving The World ( dang it, it's cold in Ohio ). I was busy working, doing real things, you know?
So, I missed on getting the darn boards.... got the completion kit.
When will the boards be available again?
(Don't be telling me about using a portable device... I was stuck looking at Jet Engine Test Cells and their machineries... stuff that makes a pair of 5U amps definitely puny! 4G and 5G need not apply in the industrial World of Really Big, Loud Hardware that could fail spectacularly, catastrophically in a split second. I mean what's the point of a hard hat? What's the point of saving your brain if the rest of your body will be immolated in a split second? )
Anyhow, once again, in the caboose... hoping for boards.

@tonyEE
I did offer to pick a set up for you. I was serious. In fact, there's a little story about that if you care to reach out via PM. Regardless, there will be more, just gotta practice that thing my folks kept preaching back in the day....what is it called again....I don't reca....oh, yeah patience.

Done, yeah... patience... life in the caboose, thanks. I PM'd you.

Anand,Please let me know if what I am writing comes across as snarky or confrontational. It’s a 2 way medium with these forums so I can’t tell compared to a real live conversation like on Zoom or Facetime for example.
So far this thread has been one of my favorites. People are discussing and asking questions. For me at least the mood has been all good and fun. Perhaps its all just the excitement of a new amp.
So to you and everyone who takes their time to answer my current dumb question, and to apologize for my future dumb questions, I thank you 🙏
Edit: i would like to point out that I am in a pretty damn good mood! I just finished the acp+ and I have to say I super happy with it so far. I am gearing up to build the ACA MINI. And right after that the F5M. Super excited for all of it. Also really looking forward to the f6m that papa is cooking. Zenductor might also be dropping soon, and the store bless their hearts might soon restock other goodies. This stuff is just plain fun and this year might just be an awesome year for DIY audio.

Theoretically, but with 2 channels drawing 2.8 amps I prefer a higher rating- they get hot at 2 amps.i believe the 5A ones that came with the completion kit are good for higher bias, correct? up to 1.4?
I'm building it differently this time (many ways to skin a cat, but good for the cat, too) by not the "bigger HS the better" approach by using back-to-back smaller HS with variable 24Vdc fan with thermister.
I'll just have to figure optimum component values to minimize noise, if not possible to eliminate. Or, wind separate AC secondary feeding 110Vac fan.

Stop banging yourself. Those who dare not ask questions, learn nothing. This forum is for everyone, there are no stupid questions. Plus, those who dare not ask, learn from those who do. Keep it up!I'm shocked and shamed at myself
- It turns out that the two output transistors face the opposite direction compared to the image I've had in my head all along!
Which means that I haven't grasped an iota of how the circuit actually works during all this time
Once I've collected my thoughts again – I'll be back with some serious questions for someone to answer!!! 😡

The Iron Law of going with fan cooling, use:
- Biggest possible fan.
- Lowest possible RPM.
…If you want the most Silent and still the most Effective cooling possible.

You’re Tony. You don’t need boards 💪OK.... back from Saving The World ( dang it, it's cold in Ohio ). I was busy working, doing real things, you know?

Thanks, the good news is the amp sounds great even at the lower bias.Theoretically, but with 2 channels drawing 2.8 amps I prefer a higher rating- they get hot at 2 amps.
Any compelling reason to stuff 1 board to completion before starting the 2nd or doing both at the same time?
Depends. Finishing and testing one board first, has the possible benefit of avoiding making the same mistakes on both boards.
Voice of experience?😉Also triple check the transistors and their proper spot.
One works well enough too, especially once ya get da mojo.for us Cheapskates, these 2 are enough, clipped in appropriate places in circ
3rd one as free shooter, for whatever grabbing my attention
I’ve found that if I put my ear across the N channel source resistor, and my beard across the other, I can pretty much sense the balance of Iq.
