I'm very hard pressed to decide which is my favorite, BA-3 or Aleph J. They are both wonderful.
I am intrigued. It seems like you built a BA-3 but did not publish a build guide or added it to your signature line...
😕
The BA-3 I built was with a friend, I didn't document it enough to make a guide.
I do have a full BA-3 to build, it's next on my list of things to do.

Why don't you share with us what you think is a MANLY amplifier?
You don't sound like your usual self today. Are you having a bad day?
What does it take, in your opinion, to qualify as a manly amplifier? Does it have to glow in the dark? Does it have 6C33C-B in the output? Or the more mundane 6550, 6L6, 6V6, etc.? Give us a clue...

What's with you guys today? I don't understand all this tap-dancing around the issue. Maybe we should move this conversation to the lounge and stop polluting this thread.

BA-3 balanced looks to be a fantastic amp. I love the idea, and can't imagine that it would do anything other than make the BA-3 better.
That said, I'm going to do a couple of tube projects once the BA-3 guide is done.

It really does depend. What are your speakers? what kind of sound do you like. Do you want something fleshed out or are you willing to try stuff.

My speakers are shown in this thread:

I have built several amplifiers and am about to finish the Pumpkin pre-amp to use with the also about-to-be-completed F4s. I have not heard those in my system yet and am looking forward to it. But Zen Mod's assertion that both the Pumpkin, which he designed, and the F4 are sissy devices, made me wonder what would qualify as Manly in his view.
