View from the back
Its a beauty Al. Inside and outside.
I would place the output connections closer to the amps, away from the input.
For the time being you can print your pinkmouse icon and glue it on the frontplate...
Good luck, Loek

Re: View from the back
Yeah, I was just being lazy and using the existing holes. If I get round to changing the phonos to prettier ones I may well move them over a bit.
Possibly, but I think it needs something bold to fit with the style of the rest of the amp. I might get the dremel out and have a practice and see what I can come up with.

That's a cool use of what looks like an old STB chassis 🙂
Reminds me.. i've got one of those in the cupboard...

People told that found DX drunk at Youtube.
I think not so drunk....only two can of beer.... less than 500 mililíters.

This is my Symasym (PMA mod.), with active crossover. Sounds great.
Thanks to MikeB for sharing with us.

Hi Wronski, nice too see a new symasym built ! 🙂
Sadly, i have difficulties viewing your pics, the server seems a bit slow ?
Carlos, are you sure that you had only 2 beers ?

I tried to achieve "all in one" unit, so it may look little bit messy.
There is 4 x Symasym and 2 x pcb with capacitors and diode bridges.
By the back side you can see active crossover, PCU for crossover and soft start.
Active crossover is one motherboard with 5 slots for each channel and 5 cards, which are:
1. balanced input with high frequency filter, 2. switchable filter (q cut), 3. switchable filter (high pass - when subwoofer is used), 4. high pass 24dB/oct, 5. low pass 24dB/oct.
Sorry about problems with pictures, they are located on freehosting domain (you get what you pay 😉 ).

Complex, yes. Messy, no. That's really nice work getting all those elements in one tidy container. If you've done that without running into any noise problems, then it's a very fine job indeed.

Hi Wronski,
I'm really impressed with your amp.
How do you like the sound? That thing is worthy of it's own thread since you've taken the Symasym to a complete system. Anyhow, that is just a super job! Not messy in the least.

Hmm, yes, but until now i am busy with more fundamental things...
I doubt that i will ever have a symasym in a case.

Hi Mike,
So don't feel bad about it.

I'm in the same boat right now. I am eventually going to build these into appropriate cases once I'm done.I doubt that i will ever have a symasym in a case.

The "once I'm done" is the problem... Is it ever done ?

Hi Mike,
At some point I'll decide to put a couple "into production" and continue developing. Keeps my wife happy so I can do more. 😉
I had a simple goal for these when I started. To drive in-wall speakers and possibly computer speakers. So the 50W model will fit the bill well. Then I have three daughters who deserve a very good amplifier, 'cause I can. You can't buy a Marantz anymore for the money they used to sell for, therefore I'll build them a great amp.
