Hi ive fitted the MMBTA42 and it powers up correctly there is no sound. It uses the ir2184 as the driver when i have removed the chip it powers up correctly but nwhen the chip is installed its almost like its draining all the power. There is also the rail voltage present on the pads with no output fets fitted. Any idea what it could be and any help would be appreciated
You weren't too specific but there will be rail voltage on some of the pads of the output transistors as well as on the driver IC.
There are no transistors and ouput fets is straight on the ir2184s and as soon as the ir2184s is on the board its like its like it drains the current of the amp
Post a photo showing precisely where you have rail voltage and the actual voltage at those points.
I'm trying to find something similar and the quality of the photo isn't good enough for me to read the part number. What is the part number?
Can you post a good photo of that area?

If all you have is a cell phone, ask around to see if someone has an old Nikon CoolPix camera that they want to part with. They may even give you one. They are very good and here, very cheap. This is from an old Coolpix 2200 (released in 2004?).

Clean it with acetone then wipe heatsink compound on it then wipe off with a dry cloth. Does that help?
