Endgame WMTMW open baffle woofer options

The frequency response and parameters of the 6rs140 look good. But the distortion does seem a little high at 4% @ 104db

Yoooooooooo

I am dancing through my room. I have goosebumps!

I made a mockup without having all the correct drivers. I have an old 21" playing up to 120hz, then the 15" P audio, then a chifi full range from 500 to 2000hz and then the Heil.

This thing has power, air, detail....and it sounds great and sometimes even startling with every kind of music from dense rock to edm and jazz.

If just slapped together and in mono this sounds so amazing I can't imagine how it sounds as a proper loudspeaker with all the correct drivers and fine tuned crossovers and phase alignment.

The only negative I hear is a certain muddiness in some frequencies but that is to be expected in this rickety setup. In the finished speaker every driver has it's individual heavy baffle (cast concrete) and each baffle is suspended from cables.

Some time ago I saw a video that I now cannot find anymore of sound comparison of a markaudio driver and the same driver with a big brass weight attached to the magnet. The difference was day and night. I tried it myself by attaching a sledgehammer head to the back of a full range driver and it is like suddenly the driver is focused and you realize before it was blurry and imprecise.

This is going to be epic!

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

Pic or it didn't happen ;-)

With this setup I notice for the first time that my class A amplifier (Dartzeel clone) sounds dry and constricted when cold and takes about 10 minutes to sound good. Never really noticed it that strong before.

When I play around with gear I am in the habit of playing snippets and move to the next song but I notice I almost want to hear every song to the end......

Oh dear, I sound like a guy who just fell in love and cannot shut up about his girl....
