Where did I use bad language? Maybe it was bad english but not bad language. If it's tolerated by the FCC on US broadcasts I am sure you can tolarate it too Mr. Pink.

Sorry to have to point it out, but it simply isn't possible for a "name", as you put it, to be ignorant.

Only people can exibit that trait, so I don't know quite what you mean by what you have said here.

Having logged on to this thread earlier, I was absolutely amazed to see that you had managed to post no less than SEVEN posts on exactly the same theme, which was merely whinging over your apparent loss of some (illusory) status.

I therefore agreed with an earlier member's comments, and pointed out that it was a childish thing to make so much fuss about nothing.

My feelings remain the same, and have been reinforced by your unintelligble reply!

However, I am truly sorry that you didn't care for me exposing the truth by suggesting that maybe your name is well suited!

So I will be the next person to comment your lack of tact. Multiplexor was kind enough to ask the other moderators about the whole issue with what he called a "weired question."

My first reaction was that you stole this avatar from him. It is one of the coolest avatars on the forum and you have no right to used as long as he is using it.

Negative design, three things come to mind:

1) Wouldn't it have been polite to ask Multiplexor if you could use his avatar?

2) Any compaint by any member, regardless of experience or number of posts, is noted, and if approriate acted on. Believe what you wish.

3) We have politely asked you to change your "borrowed" avatar, you have not been told off or sinbinned, what else could we do?

No, but it does mean I have less time to work on my own projects.

If you look back on my previous posts since before I was a moderator, you will find that I disagreed and argued about the heavy handednesss of some moderation, indeed, I even had a post removed. I thought that if I was on the inside I could act as a voice of reason, and abate some of the punative actions that were being taken, but I was wrong. There was no need. It had already changed. The people who are my fellow moderators are in general, a calm, level headed bunch of guys, who do not let the power go to their heads, and only act on reasonable evidence, not the power crazed bunch of dictators you seem to see.

We are just like you, we want to build stuff and listen to music, not ban people, or get into arguements. One of the reasons I agreed to become a moderator was that as soon as the tech stuff is worked out, we will all be just members, and the moderator title will only be used for official action. I hope never to have to use it.

Hey, I work in rock 'n roll, I can tolerate, (and use) a lot worse than that!🙂 And my English is probably as bad!

But the W word is viewed as a very offensive in the UK, admittedly not as bad as the F or C words, but still an insult, and as such, I am asking you to please not use it again.

I was opening a piece of equipment from the UK the manual was saying I was supposed to be lifting the instrument out of the 'bungs'.
If it pleases the Chair I move that henceforth "******" be added to the list of illecit language and automatically censored by the web editor or substituted by the more neutral and less offensive weenie or weener, and that such alteration be put on the record. Thank you Mr. Chairman.

Democracy vs. Autocracy

Perhaps a status level could be reintroduced where members vote for other members to have their "rank" advanced. Maybe along the lines of "Was this post helpful to you? YES/NO", with a counter for helpful posts.

This seems to me to be a good way to have your cake and eat it too, but I do not know if it would be difficult to implement.

Verbose, is it really that much of a change, after all, most forums have no visible rankings, and they are none the worse for it. I personally, ( and not as a mod), feel that you can tell by a poster's words and phrasing how competant they are, and the volume of messages is not really relevant. There are members who have posted maybe a dozen times that I would trust and respect, ( not necessarily believe, after all, this is the Internet), and others who have made many posts, who are just good for entertainment, at the best...

And anyway, I was well on the way to enlightenment, not just a prophet, how do you think I feel, now being stuck as a mod😀

Multiplexor has commented on the "borrowing" of his avatar privately, and Dave, as Sheriff, was acting on his behalf. Yes, if you copied a low level member nothing may have happened for a while, but it would have happened once we noticed, or the member brought it to our attention.

Im not that angry about this, it really is not a huge deal, but from what i am reading, it seems all of these moderators are clashing ideas and i am afraid this site will go to hell. I personally thought the rating was a nice little feature to look at and thats about all it was. If someone did 10,000 posts, i would be impressed they typed that much, but still if "they tiped lik dis," you may know something is up with the quality of there posts. How about having a rating system where one could rate the quality of the post, or have a rating system where it only counts posts that are answers to questions. For instance, if one were tp reply to a question, they would have the option of selecting if it were a comment, question, or answer.

actually the contentious 'W' word was spelled out.
I seems to be the only one around here that is willing to push the boundaries. As such I am always silenced, censored, and regarded and treated as a paria.
