Is the gain dynamic matched bit by bit? because I don't want to do this, the files are already gain matched and it would screw up completely the dynamic element that I want to analyze any deviation from gain.

With your new files I get same results as earlier in post #46. Computer DAC is closer to the original.

you don't have the same version, maybe if you reinstall a new fresh version 2.0.17 we could get the same results.

I already noticed that but results are more or less the same with the new version as well. The difference comes from you not setting the "Match gain" option. Without it results will be way off if recordings have different gain.

I still think the tube is better, on the frequency that matter it has a 2-3 db better match , it is from 4khz and up that it has a poorer performance, not important frequencies for me.
This is the type of test they should do on dacs in the review forums.

in reality the matching must be way better because I require to lower the digital volume to 40% or less in order not to clip the microphone input, even when I used the middle adaptor and not the barrel one (which lowers the sensitivity of the ADC)

I am working relentlessly on my pcm58 second dac... the NewClassD regulators are being delayed/ as well as my new headphones.
Meanwhile I am reverse-engineering / schematic the whole thing, making appropriate filters with opa604 as IV and opa1611, switching some filter caps and feedback resistors,
I am installing new regs, which I should have done all last, I almost broke everything dropping the board 2 times, I'll probably replace that regulator which is in chain anyways.
I placed way small decoupling caps near the dac legs, 33uf and 22uf were replaced by 22uf and 0.47uf (blackgates!!).
I am going to revise the output with a trimpot of 100k to lower the dac volume directly for testing and a 100R output resist. Somewhere the schematic is not right for that part.
I painstakingly did all this and installed 2 more trimpots for the dacs bit adjustment, read and re-read all released notes and author of the dac explanations.
I will try OS4x and 8x for this new board, opamps are also decoupled with 0.1uf and 0.47uf blackgates... well, nothing else to do with it.
In final the tests will be as follow : Computer , ad4396, pcm58-J, pcm58-K. I don't have anything else right now, sold the other dacs. If anyone want to send me a dac to test too it is appreciated.
