Will not tell ya.... you use that strange language

i could not read you hierogliphs.....so will not tell ya.

ahahahhaa

not tell ya..i know and you will curious..not tell ya.

I also do not know those codes to Nordic:

.... verkeerd kyk....

No problems man....kidding only.

Que chato ser ignorante....não saber Holandês quando neste Estado tivemos ínvasão Holandesa, e tôdos nós temos caracteristicas físicas, fenotípicas, herdadas desse pôvo.

It is a pitty as i do not know dutch language....when we had Holand people invasion here (they made good things here) and all of us have characteristics from this people.

The Grandfather of my grandfather came from Holand...here is my Grandfather... can you recognize the head, the small neck and eyes from Holland?

Yes it is fun to use my home language, and to be understood.
Do not get to use it much outside of my family anymore, it is realy a dieing language... and the street version the children speak these days uses the same words but with completely diffirent meaning, or completely out of context...

Verkeerd means wrong and kyk (like the work cake) means look.

P.S. I believ the dutch are now the tallest nation in the world, which must mean they are living very healthy and that children are well fed.

Nico,

Consider me your Adobe vector based file optimizing friend. I'm not an expert at many things (especially not amplifier electronics), but at vector based 2D imaging/coding, I am. Send me something to optimize.

Nice layout!

Nico,

Compliments with the parts layout on the component side (Post #722) - looks very nice. Well done!

I still want to install the transistors directly on the heatsink, with the board on spacers parallel with the heatsink surface. Can you think of any problem if I drill the transistor holes larger - of course missing the traces - to get a screw driver to the transistors through the holes in the board.

This is only for removal if necessary - I will install the transistors first, with bent up leads and then solder them to the board after it was installed.

Regards,
Francois

Hi Francois, I'm being naughty, reading thread from back to front...

see those 3 traces running in the heatsink tab area... You can cut them off (just watch the one by the middle transistor), the nyou sould be able to use vertical mount transistors (was kind of my way of slipping the posibility in there...) You will then need to replace the cut off traces with 3 pieces of wire... but totaly doable I think...

I see what you are aiming at... do not think it is impossible...

are welcome...you are into our crew, so, everything you buy and everything you make is interesting to all of us.

Thanks Carlos.

This is a link to the case. Unfortunately, it looks as if they have returned to the higher price of AU$49. For $29 they were a real bargain, as they aren't too bad quality at all. Not like those $150 cases some people use, but good enough not to look amateurish. The fit and finish is better than I expected at the price.

I'm using one for a SKA amp, and will buy Precision 1 boards so as one day to build your amp as well. I like the idea of a very refined but relatively conventional amp such as the P1, especially with so many refinements derived from the likes of 'Gentleman' Hugh and Doug Self.

I've been on holiday, but am I right in saying that the P1 boards have been delayed and are almost ready for production?

Cheers

Stuey

We are the problem Stuey.... me and Nordic

I have asked him many modifications, this resulted in 8 different boards, only this last one was because of Nordic decided to change something to make easier testing and repair...he made components more distant one related the other, more room to measure, using the entire board....before we had some islands with population of parts and some empty fields...now better.

Alike Nordic say... we are not exactly warriors, we are worriors....we worry a lot, and we go testing the boards into real world, and using non matched parts, trying to make things exactly as people will face real life when matched parts are not easy to find... so... we build and we go checking once, twice and so on..... a little bit neurotical search for safety and reliability.

There's no more technical reasons that are impeachment to order boards, so i think that it is possible that Nordic already ordered the factory to produce them.

I am sorry about the delay, but take a good look into the board and you gonna see, clear, that we had made a very good job on it.... in special Nordic maid, as in the reality i have bothered him a little asking modifications anymore.

Well.... at least now a days i have to tell you i am entirelly satisfied with the boards and i will not ask anymore modifications.

It is up to Nordic from now on.

regards,

Carlos
