Nordic and Duda are talking about Dx Standard board size reduction to produce cheaper to sell brazilian market only.
This will be sold with profit..here, down in south America..will be ugly because output transistors will not go to the "L" shape heatsink to reduce board size.... Nordic could reduce 59 percent.
Nordic will have board too..but not group buy this time.
HRII and Precision 1 are the last ones for group buy, so.. they will be sold without any profit.
The new board is very small... transistors leads may hold the weigth as it is small and "arm of force" is small...ligthweigth too...condensers reduce in size and insulation is into the lower limits to 35 volts.
1000 dollares will be spent... i hope this returns, because if not, we gonna eat boards with ketchup.
ahahahahahaha!

Thanks doonk I had endless problems trying to explain that.. the picture is exactly what I had in mind....
But I can't guarantee that we will do it like that even with enough votes, as the other boards are allready designed, and those boards that fit the picture probably needs another day's work...

Donk suggestion can broke transistor leads if you do not attach them with bolts and
nuts into something...chassis or something... cannot be hold by transistor leads only..you will need small "L" shape things to attach to the board and them to the heatsink.

i only found the mistake and it was interesting to me that it was even.....
it is normal - i think that this answer depend upon what you like to have at the end and that we make compromises dependind on that very end - that result at the end.....
anyway 🙂 it is still the victory in favour of the L profile 🙂

Yes... i cannot wait to finish this subject, having final agreement with Nordic.

Well..... nothing is perfect...i am not perfect too...but i think things could be more easy to me.
Well.... i have 32 advanced orders to the small Dx Classic, boards by Nordic, will be sold brazil and Nordic will receive his part of this job..for sure he will, also another one partner in USA.
I want to see Precision 1 ready, with boards offered to group buy... this is for free enterprise.... but i am interested also, and a little bit more, into the next one, the Precision II, because not for free and better too, and there are already people in Brazil interested to put it into production line here.
Precision 1 forum evaluation will be good to my heart and will be support to my sales in Brazil too.
As you can see, i continue to talk with my brain and heart... true conversation that was always my behavior here.

I prefer an angle bracket, but having a line of six O/P devices tends to make the pcb quite long. I'm thinking of building it this way (when I've finished my version of the FC-100!)

Board layout WRT power resistors
This is the last board we have seen (I think) and we are (apparently) moving on with the L-bracket I wondered ...
Nico, what is the plan with the power resistors under the board. it seems that most people want install the board horizontally.

I don' think they will be a problem under there, unless you give no air to breathe under the board... (install flash with floor)
I suppose it will depend on the actual heat generated in these resistors. Any running HRII's to check?
Experience with the practice (of power resistors under a horizontal board) has not been good for me. In a power supply for example a resistor (with about 25 mm clear below it) charred the board above it - that amp still smells of something burning after two years.
My board will go in vertically, so I expect mine will be OK.
