There's a group buy maintained by Nordic..there are forum rules

Not business here.

Group buy when has no profit.

Home page when sales is with profit...when business is beeing made.

to avoid problems with management, or friend moderators have to come here to put order (they will feel bad... some of them are very good friends of me)...i also will feel bad.

So...please, search any Nordic post and you will see the home page, and also the group buy link..and please, put your orders there...and say the amplifier you want..if Precision 1, if HRII or if Dx Classic

There's absolutelly no problem at all.

We have only organize ourselves and take some care about forum rules.

Your orders are great...i feel good, will maintain us active doing things and will start the corporation.

Soon we will start to have some profit and the first bricks of the big International Corporation building.

A big Blue DX, with ligth inside.... blue LED ligth..inside a diamond made with glass... with strong ligths on it too.. glass panel side ligths..you know what i mean..not spotligth.

The Glass Diamond will be turning when South African President will enter the Corporation building...Nico Daneel, that is a handsome man..with a nice dark blue suit with his beautifull wife at his side...he will left the cream limousine entering to the elevator with the destiny of the highest floor office.

I will be with AKSA owner, the other side of the street crying of emotion watching that happening... dreaming comes true!

I want to see this image before i die.

Five votes for "L" shape adaptor and 4 votes for boards running parallel to heatsink

Could you perceive, folks, that you have to disassemble all the stuff to repair...have to remove transistors and screws that attach board to the heatsinks?... if dessolder transistor leads they may broke into the point they enter the black epoxi case.

Also the capacitive effects, board near the heatsink?

Well folks...one more vote and we gonna close votes.

If result 5 to 5 points..i will my chairman position to order my preference.

I think i have, already, the chance to NOT use "da boss" tools.

I hope the last one vote for "L" shape.

I have to finish this votation and will be done in a couple of hours...boards must be finished today, to be ordered in USA tomorrow morning.

US Angle Stock Vendor for that L shaped piece.

I haven't used this vendor, though I've heard of other people gettnig great results.

They will cut to order the angle stock of your choice: OnlineMetals.com.

They have 2 different aluminum angle stock types, 6061 and 6063. I don't know how they they compare regarding heat dynamics. According to their website, type 6063 has a smoother finish. That would seem to make it the obvious choice for ease of mating to another surface.

And their prices don't seem too bad: 1" x 1" x 1/8" (2.54cm x 2.54cm x 0.32cm) is $1.41 per foot or $0.20 per inch cut to suit. They claim to have no minimum.

Good Dave... having supplier things turns better

I do such thing in my home with my own hands.

But of course this one is better than mine.

Also the windows here have aluminium frame... and this stuff we find for free into shops were they prepare and fix window frames.

We use to leave near the beach...our biggest tows are all this way... wooden windows are not good for our weather..so... we use aluminium.

Aluminium in small pieces (aircraft aluminium, called here duraluminium) also Banana, mango fruit, watermellow, cashew, orange, lemmon..those things are things we have in such a big quantity that is not hard to find.

6061 Aluminum
6061 Aluminum is, by most any measure, the most commonly used aluminum alloy. It is specified in most any application due to its strength, heat treatability, comparatively easy machining, and weldability. If that were not enough, it is also capable of being anodized, adding a layer of protection for finished parts

6063 Aluminum
6063 is often called architectural aluminum for two reasons - first, it has a surface finish that is far smoother than the other commercially available alloys, and second, its strength is significantly less (roughly half the strength of 6061), making it suited for applications where strength is not the foremost consideration.

6063 is rated as "Good" for forming and cold working operations, "Excellent" for anodizing, and "Fair" for machining.

In other words you want the 6061 as it is easier to drill and tap...

Gee, I would have thought the smooth finish would be the primary consideration, though it's easy to sand any aluminum smooth. Drilling and tapping ANY aluminum is easy, as long as it isn't too soft to hold threads. I used to drill and tap (10/32) angle iron for making amplifier rack rails (back in the old days), which still isn't too difficult really, and it's a lot tougher than the hardest aluminum.

No matter which aluminum people use, they should sand/polish the heat-transfer surface(s) as much as possible. Rod Elliot has a great heatsink article that mentions this on his website.
