Very nice bro very nice colorful and sexy amp Carlos will be happy as I'm 🙂

Regards
Juan

Thank you very much bro and of course without your worderful layout mine will be nothing.... So you deserve a big thanks from me and everybody who build this amp....😉

massive... looks huge.

What about the sound... are you satisfied?

regards,

Carlos

Very happy and very satisfying sound my dear uncle charlie...

No hum or hizz, Mid and high are perfect for my taste specially the punchy bass....

A treasure that can be proud to have this kind of lovely amp.😉

Yep..... a nice sound machine.

My forum is open.... everyone is welcome..... in special Dx Corporation members (the ones build a Dx amplifier)

I am not interested in quantity of people...i want quality.... i will make a personal interview to each one that try to subscribe.

Thank you Bahrain.

regards,

Carlos

Always install fuses in series in the output

This is to protect the speaker if your transistors is shorted....if positive rail power transistor (a single one) is shorted, or fried, then you will have positive rail voltage going to the speaker coil..this may burn the coil....then the fuse will burn protecting the speaker coil

Sometimes the coil goes shorted, burned, fried and filled with carbon...the coil insulation is burned and the coil impedance drop to zero ohms, a dead short that will melt your power transistors...so....this time is to protect the amplifiers.

Use 4A fuses to 8 ohms speakers
Use 8A fuses to 4 ohms speakers
Use 15A fuses to 2 ohms speakers

You may think the supply fuse will do the job....no!...it may not do it, as it is calculated to higher current, that may be two channels added maximum peak current.

You may believe the power amplifier rail fuses will do the job..... maybe not, they are calculated to the consumption and not the audio...they are very big.

Speaker fuses use to be lower in Ampere ratio and also high speed fuses...fast blow fuses.

I strongly suggest you to do this way....Juan faced troubles because a shorted speaker... i hope you will work at the safe side.

Power transistors loss is frustrating, generates some work to repair, sometimes destroy precious speakers.... fuses use to be cheap...use them.

See video below, they show fuses being draw by Juan Vargas Diaz...this may help as a sugestion to your procedure.

Carlos

fantastic amplifier

Dear Carlos!

I took my time but here are my impressions of this amplifier!

For the settings, no problems!
I have provided the DC amplifier protection and a sofstart.
Each channel has its own power supply and are not interconnected by the mass (in fact the two channels are completely separated them).
The supplies are not stabilized because the two transformers that I had too low a voltage output (2x22v - 220VA), which allows me to supply + / - 30v.

After the stress of commissioning, this is happiness!
A power amplifier generates no noise or breath is complete silence!
This amplifier has a lot of punch and speakers who cash it needs.
On my Elipson Prestige 3 (8 ohms) I have a warm and immediately surprises is trebble precision (very detailed) sound, voice going beautifully.
The medium are present and do not attack the ear and for me it is a very important point.
The bass is punchy and powerful (even on my small Elipson), only my speakers have a bit of trouble to transcribe the low end.
After several hours of listening to my realization heat sinks are moderately hot and I still have the margin to operating temperature.

To summarize this is a really good amplifier I do not regret having built and success is guaranteed!
With stabilized power supply that must be giant!

Well done Carlos for this achievement and thank you for all the advice!

Regards!

Made me very happy today dear Project16

If is good is a Fluke or a Dx Amplifier my dear friend Lanchile!

Ahahahahah!

Made my day man! .... Je suis profondément honoré par tes paroles ( i am deeply honored by your words)

Thanks by the picture you posted..... very good construction....but people said these transformers this way will not work very well.... one above the other...problem with magnetic field.

I have finished, today, testings in the Dx Super A, Brazilian version...Zimmer said the pcboard stock is finished..all sold..and now he will enter the Brazilian Ebay (Mercado Livre) and will spread the unit to Latin America.

Here the last video...the approval... in portuguese...sorry for that, but it is for Brazilian people only.... we cannot ship to you..may not arrive your home.

Dat case is beautiful! I wish I could get my hands on cases like that. Are these premanufactured or did you do the metal work yourself?

Monacor was my first multimeter...down seventies...maybe 1970

A dutch stewardess brougth it from Nederlands and made a gift to me...in Rio de Janeiro...great multimeter!...was sold to a very good friend that os still using it.

These ancient multimeters have a real rotary switch inside..... all metalic....no switches over a printed circuit board...was point to point..huge resistors...good stuff.

If you do not want to have Dx Super A operation because of the heat

Or the low power in class A...or because your heatsink is small, or because you do not listen classical music and the feature gonna be disabled all time long..or because any kind of other reason..then readjust your bias to 600 milivolts in stand by mode and remove the zener diode (6 to 10V zener diode..the only one in this amplifier).

Then you gonna have a standard class AB amplifier with awesome sonics and with low third harmonics.

Juan will make a better image..this one i have modified and the result was not good.

regards,

Carlos
