rudi,
i am sorry to hear about this trouble. i have mysekf registered a commercial entity just for this reason, the governments of today worry a lot about money laundering and the internet.
either way, i will treasure and enjoy the "little red jewels you provided".
thank you so much for your work.

Dear DX Blame friends,
I hope you have all received your letters with your orders by now and have already started on assembling the beautiful DX Blame.
I am very unhappy to tell you that there will not be a 2nd round of Group-Buy in November.
There are several reasons for this:
First:
I have troubles with PAYPAL.
I have exceeded a certain amount of incoming money transfer and PAYPAL now asks me, if I want to go on, to reveal my transfers
to the German and European tax authorities.
This is what I will not do. I have nothing to hide, but I do not like anybody to scan my personal affairs.
Second:
To produce a masterpiece like the red-and-gold AMP PCBs takes a lot of "blood, sweat and tears" - and time. Nobody can do this alone.
METAL and I have become a team while layouting, prototyping and ordering the PCBs.
Due to personal reasons METAL can no longer support the evolution of further DX AMPs.
I regret his decision very much, but I honour it.
To those of you, who own the red-and-gold jewels: make them sound as they look like!
Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos
Thank you, Par, for your nice and appeasing words!
The troubles, I am currently encountering with PAYPAL, will not cost me a grey hair!
It is a different thing when you are talking about sending letters around the world without any insurance.
I have made my experience with my "blue-eyed attitude", and I will change this the next time I will offer a group-buy.
Keep your eyes open on good-looking metal-AMP - cases when you travel to Hongkong the next time.
All of you (but CARLOS - LOL) should have received your red-and-gold PCBs right now.
Please: do me the favour and publish some images of your "oeuvres" into this thread.
Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Aww, I missed it, argh! The boards look simply fantastic.
If someone ends up with orphan boards for any reason, I'm willing to adopt 🙂
Enjoy the sound!

I guess it is too late to get these boards? I am new to the forum and only found this thread now 🙁
I can do this, Fizz, and start a second round.
I had some misunderstanding with Carlos several months ago, but we settled them, and I believe that he does not mind if I start a small, 2nd round right now.
I just asked for the prices of the etching company.
Here is the result:
If I would order 10 PCBs DX BlameES and 10 PCBs PSU, same quality as I did several months ago, I would have to pay about 170€ (included is about 25€ local toll).
So: one DX Blame PCB will cost about (<) 10€; one PSU PCB will cost about (<) 8€.
You can then calculate the total sum of your order by yourself.
What I want to recommend you very warmly, is this little Pre-AMP / Attenuator, which works in perfect harmony (tested!) with the DX BlameES:
You need 3 PCBs for this little Pre-AMP:
- the relay PCB to select the source
- the transformer PCB
- the Controller PCB
- the pre-programmed µProcessor which is at the heart of the PRE-AMP
This little Pre-AMP / Attenuator uses a PIC 18F4550 µProcessor that selects the source (one of 8 possible inputs),
drives a BurrBrown PGA2311 Volume Control Chip to do the attenuation, displays the current source selection
and attenuation on a LCD display, accepts remote control for attenuation, mute and source-select, ...
This is, in my eyes, the perfect symbiosis of sound and operation.
I will try and offer the bundle of 2 DX BlameES PCBs, 2 PSU PCBs and the PRE-AMP PCBs + µProcessor for <100€.
Are you still interested?
I can promise you: this will be the only DIY project, you will ever do.
Once you have listened to the DX BlameES and this "Pre-AMP", you will sell your solder iron, your digital multimeter, ...
You won't need them any more. You will be content.
Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

Hi Ferynov,
this is still the DX BlameES group-buy and I do not want to turn it into a Pre-AMP thread.
If you are interested, have a look at this (Stefan's) site:
PicPlayer
and click on the string: "Lautstärkeregelung mit PGA2311" on the left, top side.
A windows opens that contains some pictures, a link to the User Builder's Manual and the BoM.
Click on the string: "Nachbauanleitung mit Plänen und Stücklisten (ca. 4MB)" and you can download a .PDF-file containing the Builder's Manual.
The manual is written in German, but you can find the complete schematics in it.
You have access to the BoM, when you scroll down the page and click on the string "Bauteile für das Controllerboard" (Components for the controller board).
Stefan's Pre-AMP does not have output-buffers; so it should be mounted in the AMP's case as well.
The reason I mentioned this Pre-AMP is, that, at least in my ears, it plays perfectly with Carlos' DX Blame.

Thank you Rudi for the guide. Now i can see clearly pics. yes, i only ask about pre-amp and i don't want on this page other GB than DX BLAME....and I high appreciate your pre-amp recomendation .sure.
Thanks Rudi,
I'll definitely take 2 Amp PCBS and 2 power supply PCBs. I'll also gladly take 2 more AMP PCBS if you don't have enough buyers.
That pre-amp definitely sounds interesting, but being this is my first project I want to start with one component of my speaker system at a time. Next i'll probably build myself some better speakers and i'll probably just buy my own DAC with a volume pot. I've been looking at the Audio-gd FUN.
Let me know where I can send you your payment when your ready. I'm very excited. Does anyone recommend a good place to get a transformer? Also, how important/worthwhile is it to have a power supply for each channel?
