DX Blame Group Buy

@ those of you, who ordered LS Protect PCBs:

Be careful when you open my letters!

I enclosed the Darlingtons BC517, I use to drive the relay on the LS Protect PCB, into a small piece of tissue. Do not throw it into the waste!

I will take the bunch of the next 10 enevelopes to the post-office tomorrow morning.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

2nd round of the DX Blame Group-Buy

Concerning the 2nd round of the DX Blame Group-Buy:

I will start round 2 in November as I already told you.

I have 3 choices and I would like to have your opinion, please.

Choice number 1:
I can offer you the same PCBs as in round 1.
There is one requisite: the number of orders for a specific PCB should exceed 25.
Otherwise I cannot offer you the prices of the 1st round.

Choice number 2:
I will re-design (I will need METAL's assistance of course, ) the layout of the current PCBs (DX Blame, DX PSU and LSProt) to combine
the 3 circuits of one channel on a single PCB.
The loss of wires - from PSU to AMP and from AMP to LSProt - results in an audible enhancement, at least in my ears.

Choice number 3:
It was me, of course (in the meantime Carlos promoted me to be marketing director of the virtual DX Corp.), having some feedback of you,
who asked Carlos: "Can you please enhance the DX Blame to have the same bass attack as a competitive AMP?"

I, never, missed any bass in the current DX Blame.

Carlos is currently investigating the DX Blame telling me about the approvements he will implement.
He will call the "improved" DX Blame the "DX Blame MKII".
I will ask him to provide downward compatibility to the DX Blame ST /ES Version.

Maybe - if Carlos agrees - choice number 3 :

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/soli...me-mkii-obvious-evolution-dx-blame-es-st.html

is the preferred choice.

Please give me your opinion on how to proceed for the 2nd round of the DX Blame group buy.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos (Marketing Director of DX Corp.)

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Mine boards are ready to go!

My bubble envelope is the last to be ready, but will go to the mail system at same time together all others.

A more complete and more correct adressing was suggested to Rudi

This way post company electronic separation works better...Brazilien may be understood in Germany but not in Brazil.... this way goes to South America...then goes to Brazil and then goes to Pernambuco..finally to Jaboatão dos Guararapes....last thing..the zip code make it reach my place fast.

Good!

regards,

Carlos

Parts list for transistors and caps

I got the power transistors (TOSHIBAs) yesterday but I haven't ordered any other components. I put together a revised "shopping list", with Rudi's comments implemented (thanks Rudi!). If you guys are interested, please look at the spreadsheet. There are links to Mouser for each part. The list only includes Q's and C's, but I'll update with R's and hardware soon.

I would appreciate any comments on the parts selected. As this is my first project I have yet to experiment and learn how component selection affects audio quality.

Thanks and happy building.

Thank you very much, Nikcho, for your efforts!

It is beautiful to see that so many of you are contributing to the success of the DX Blame familiy of AMPs.

The DX Blame: it is a fever that will infect you.

I am still looking for somebody who has skills in MS WORD or any other publishing software to make the Builder's Manual "a feast for the eyes".

I can't do this myself. I do not have any skills in publishing software.

Maybe: somebody of you has and likes to do it.

Carlos, Rudi,

I'd love to join the Corporation and contribute in any way I can. The Manual is beautiful as it is, Rudi, you have done an outstanding job!

If you'd like, however, I can add a table of contents linked to the different parts of the document and format it a bit. Maybe we can add a list with approved part numbers. I know that feature would be helpful to builders with little to no experience (like me) in selecting components.

I think I have already contracted the DIY infection!

Regards,
Nikolay
