Babelfish M25??
if yes, wrong thread
if yes - you'll make a trouble - zeners in case are strictly gate protection devices and limiters for max signal swing ......... and LED in place of these will act very different

The intent is to have a string that has an overall negative tempco and good regulation (a steep I/V curve), The LTL4231 performed well in testing, see the first two pages of this thread for details. If your want to try something different, you may of course do your own evaluation. This is probably a dumb question. Will any generic green LED work for this?
Thanks for the answer. If your want to try something different, you may of course do your own evaluation.
Unfortunately the dumb level of this topic seems to be out of reach for me, so i will take that as a no.
@kaan It is easy enough to test. Use a breadbord or solder the three LEDs together with a resistor at one end. Select the resistor so you will have around 5-6 mA through the circuit. Let say 12V PS, then a 1 kOhm resistor will do.
Use a multimeter to measure the voltge drop across the LED's. There will be an initial change in voltage but you can use your fingers on the LEDs to to see the reaction for the temperature change. A 2 to 3 mm LED vill probably have a faster rection time due to less mass.
