Thank you for reply.
What I want?
8 channel out, symetrical prefered
USB, coax, optical input
analog volume control
enough computing power (I used 11 PEQ separate for L and R channel with Najda)
Analog Devices, or AK AD and DA chips (I don´t like how ESS chips sound)
use PC as player only
If somebody have WAF Najda for sale, I buy it.

@jbator: My Najda is fortunately repaired by replacing the analog-in op-amps. I carefully tested the input with the analog out of a CD-player through preamp, volume very low.
Still I´m wondering why the measuring device could cause damage when connected to the next wall-plug (same fuse..) instead of the next power-strip. What is the difference? - I admit there are several meters of cable, power and RCA.
@lubo28: what is the problem in your Najda? No chance to repair?
There are Mini-DSP 4x10, Fouraudio HD2 or HD2 high-end, T-racks DSP 408 or FIR DSP 408, Monacor DSM-48 LAN (=IMG Stage Line DSM-48 LAN), all eight channel, but I didn´t realise all of your requirements..
I couldn´t find the price of the DSP Nexus nor the availability for private customers(??).

Interesting about the Nexus

As you say, no price or availability.
It sounds expensive though! Nice feature, phantom mic input / power.
What we need is a Najda Vs miniDSP shootout test.

price of the nexus will be $3000 , it should go into production around June .
right now only prototypes are available .

I forgot to mention the Xilica series XD, XP or Neutrino.
The Analog-Precision UP2 or UP Plus mentioned by lowpoke earlier were discussed for years in this forum:
Hi-end DSP based multi-channel integrated Preamp/Crossover/DAC project
It seems to be the most comparable solution to the Nexus, at least concerning the price tag....🙄
VERY sad that Najda is not available any more, very sad that Nick is still missed in south america!

I wonder how many broken Najda boards there are out there?
I know of 2.
What about a group buy repair/fix - Could that be something?
Make it worthwhile for a repair guy to figure them out?

FWIW Okto research is also working on a DSP version.
But they are first focused on scaling their current products.
And DSP products with their software interface take significant more effort to develop than a DAC.

That's what happened to mine too[emoji8]I’ve got one that I burnt out by reversing the polarity on the 5 V power rail

there are better DSP chips than in the Nadja, however joining it all up is the real skill. I have a few Nadja boards spares under the bed, so am okay for now.

I was prepare for loudspeakers measuring (not first with same setup). Notebook (powering from battery) connect with soundcard EMU 0404 USB and next to Najda analog input. USB cable for preset control I was connect to desktop PC. At this time my desktop PC restart and CS 42428 from Najda was in smoke. All LEDs in front panel lights, but Najda remember all presets in memory, react to volume control, change inputs, ....@lubo28: what is the problem in your Najda? No chance to repair?
I was trying to repair it by changing CS42428 (in professional service, of course), but after this I found another damaged parts.
I buy one main board of them. 🙂I have a few Nadja boards spares under the bed, so am okay for now.
@lubo28: Sad to read this is a more serious damage (maybe still reparable?)!
The beginning is all similar to my smaller damage of opamps: One notebook in control of my measuring device connected to Najda´s analog in, another notebook running NUC connected via USB. Since I need a lot of power plugs, I had connected the whole above mentioned equipment to the next wall plug, which seems to be the fault...
In your case I don´t understand the causality of a restarting desktop only connected via USB to Najda damaging the CS42428.😕
Already crawled under vinylnvalves bed and stole all the boards!😀

I hear some kind of distortion on channels 1 and 2. This is obvious when doing a sweep with REW. It seems to go away after restarting Najda but not always. Then if not using Najda for some days it seems to disappear.
At some point when chasing the problem I noticed the distortion on channel 2. Then I noticed that the distortion disappeared when uncheck (Enable square on channal1) Channel 1.
Now when trying this again I'm not able to repeat this.
I think I have had this problem for some time but it seems to appear more frequently in winter when the air gets very dry in-house when we have heavy heating on. This produces more static electricity that you can feel in many ways. So maybe there are some problems with the Najda design concerning strong static electricity.
I have the Boxed Najda so it is built by Nic and therefore there are no DIY-related issues.
I think my best option would be to buy some new operational amplifier and see if the problem goes away.

I have one of the Okto Research DAC8 DSP units. (And I love it!) They sold these briefly until parts became unobtainium.
Okto Research DAC8 DSP units.
I did think Octo is a DAC. Does it do DSP also or is there a special configuration?
Maybe it has a Raspberry inside. If so then is the question of how many tapps can it do FIR.
On Octoresearch homepages are stated that the lead time is long. But nothing that it would not be delivered if ordered.
"Our current lead time is 6-8 weeks. Please contact us if you have an EU VAT number and want to make a purchase with VAT excluded."
Maybe, I don´t know. It would be good to identify damaged components. After first and second look is visible some of them.@lubo28: Sad to read this is a more serious damage (maybe still reparable?)!
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Yes, that was annoying when minidsp stopped selling the module to anyone. Its true, they nolonger have onboard DSP, relying on PC based DSP and connecting via USB.
i'm not sure if the connection to the (optional) internal RPI is capable of multichannel. I dont know if it connects via i2s on GPIO, or via USB
