DSP Xover project (part 2)

Hello Nicolas
Thank you for this genial board (I have V1.2) : everything with this board is ok : no hum, no bugs (with Win 7).
Thank you too for the pieces (two chokes) you send me last year free of charge ! Very nice "SAV"!
The only thing I miss is the board has no multiple spdif ins. Is there any project about a input board with multiple ins (ex : AES-EBU, 2 or 3 spdif coax....) ?
I will take the new enclosure for sure.

PM

Well, almost two years after the last software/firmware revision, I really dare to see something coming with what was discussed long time ago...

and on hardware side, what about the analog expansion board ?

I'm expecting the last parts I need for the expansion early next week, then the boards will go into assembly. It's coming.

Very glad to read you're happy with your board 🙂
If you need more SPDIF inputs, then I suggest you look at the SPDIF RX boards on Ebay, for example this one supports multiple inputs. You could connect such a board to the expansion port 1 (I2S input).

Nice cabinet that you are developing. I would love to order one.

What power supply is the prefered one now for the cabinet?

Looking forward to the expansion boards since I ordered them a while ago.

Can I also use an XLR signal as an input source?

Keep up the good work!

Regards
Christian

Hi Nicolas,

Having no response from my last two mails I sent you, I'm posting here hoping to get an answer:
When do you expect expansion board to be available ?
also, what is the approximate target date of the long awaited new software-firmware ?
Not being able to import Arta ASCII curves in current version is really boring

I too have newer got any answer. So I can understand that it is near to impossible to deal with all post.
I would hope that waf-audio.com homepage would be the palace to get basic information. Now "Latest news" is the about Revision V1.2 and under Buy you can order V1.3. So the pages has not been updated fore some time. I think that basic info like what is the current revision, what can be said about coming updates or additions, would answer many of our questions. And if questions are answered witch forum shall we post at.

Guys, I think we need to cut Nick some slack here. I suppose it´s not possible to make a living selling DSP boards to the DIY market, and I´m very happy that Nick made these boards available to us for a very reasonable price considering all the knowledge and time that went into producing them.

I have also received amazing service from Nick in the past, but understand that other things have to get priority from time to time.

Yes, that was my intention by answering a question about how to use Arta with NUC.

Why don't you use the Arta *.frd format?

update: turn on mag+ph and then export ASCII. You will get a question about exporting plain .frd...

best,
Paal

Hi,
thanks for the answer but of course I use arta export frd files and it crashed NUC 95% of the time. This is acknowledged by Nick long time ago as a bug that needs to be corrected. I tried on different computers from Win 7 to Win 10, 32 to 64 bit without luck. Note that the same files are working ok with some other software (REW, Praxis and EKIO to name some)

Had problems with .frd files (from another program, not Arta) as well, but a workaround is to diminuish the amount of data, as I wrote in a former post.

This is not the final solution, but at least I am sure that everything works fine with 120 lines of data, which is imho enough, if lines to erase are selected with intelligence, so...... You can do it!🙂

Well, editing by hand, text files to remove enough lines is not really an option for me as I use in general not less than 10 curves (0° to 90°) to be able to understand what I need to correct and what should not...
In the meantime, I encourage anyone to test EKIO software which, in my opinion, has implemented curves import and visualization in an extremely efficient manner.
