Are you aware that the people of many south American nations consider themselves Americans. They consider those in the USA, North Americans.

Of course.
To make it more clear: there is NO Country in the world called "America" 😱 , period.
If in doubt, just check the money, Embassies, passports, UN seat label, Military, and a few other "minor" details.
If anything, "American" is used as a nickname or label (American Rock ´n Roll/Cinema/etc.), not a proper/formal name (for very good reason).
And there are THREE Countries in North America, go figure.
The Northern most being Canada.
Sadly, not even that:I think that would be Alaskans...![]()
Point Barrow or Nuvuk is a headland on the Arctic coast in the U.S. state of Alaska, 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow). It is the northernmost point of all the territory of the United States, at 71°23′20″N 156°28′45″W Coordinates: 71°23′20″N 156°28′45″W, 1,122 nautical miles (1,291 mi; 2,078 km) south of the North Pole. (The northernmost point on the North American mainland, Murchison Promontory in Canada, is 40 miles (64 km) farther north.)
And the Northenmost inhabited place in the whole World (take that, Putin 😉 ) is:
😱 😱 😱Alert, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut, Canada, is the northernmost continuously inhabited place in the world,[4] on Ellesmere Island (Queen Elizabeth Islands) at latitude 82°30'05" north, 817 kilometres (508 mi) from the North Pole.
Yes, wire can be as thick but can be not as thick. Possibly it is thick but extremely long? 🙂The wire between amplifier and speaker, on the other hand, can be as thick as it needs to be to have the heating be insignificant at full power, and thus have insignificant temperature rise, and change in resistance well below 1ppm.
My experiency says that such thick wire with so much negligeable DC resistancy is rather impossible than possible.
I think we are discussing here real wires but not ideal with negligeable DC resistanse and constant AC impedance.

We can't leave Ohm because we are talking about distortion which depends on a wire voltage drop. But a wire voltage drop depends on a wire current in a non-linear way in a real life. (Because current heats up any wire). So please leave Ohm out of this dumb discussion, he doesn't deserve it.
If we say that this effect is negligeable then we have to neglect all tiny effects and so there is nothing to talk about here in this topic - there isn't distortions in a wire (because we neglected every tiny effect).

How many millikelvin does the cable heat up? How long is its thermal time constant? These are the questions to estimate the modulated distortion. And how relevant is the result for audibility? Can you present any calculations? Otherwise this is an attempt to present another non existing problem.

250 posts and heated arguments about NOTHING
WASTE OF TIME
Which was made abbundantly clear on the very FIRST page.
That. And how relevant is the result for audibility? Can you present any calculations? Otherwise this is an attempt to present another non existing problem.
I havent calculated millikelvins, but I always see higher or much higher distortion after a cable or evel small 10-20 sm long wire (it depends mainly on a load resistance and impedance stability of cause). How many millikelvin does the cable heat up? Audibility can be both as objective (measurable) property and can be very subjective property. And it is a very different topic to simple objective measurable electric distortion, so I am not talking about it. I can only say something about something I see at a screen of my measurement devices.

If you are not talking about anything measurable, then you are talking Philosophy, taste, opinion, belief .... smoke and mirrors.it is a very different topic to simple objective measurable electric distortion, so I am not talking about it.

If you see it, show it.
Describe what you see and analyze it for us, related to our discussion.

I've already listed other effects, but you've just crossed out Litz wire inventions. Please list all the effects that this scientific title gives you ...No.
Why do you think the reason for non-linear impedance is exactly skin effect, but not any other effect? I don't see a connection, because I don't agree that skin-effect modulates the cable resistance.

Skin-effect does modulate a wire resistance.
This seems obvious to me.
The current density is not uniform at high frequencies. It is higher near the surface, lower inside. This results in an increase of the wire resistance.
That said, wether the skin-effect and Litz wire is relevant to speaker cables is another story that relates more to snake oil than physics.

Then you have to accept the fact that snake oil tastes and smells different from one snake to another.
In general, the topic of cables was studied in detail back in the 50s and up to the present day in the technique of professional cable design. The influence of different insulation is also studied, the characteristics of cables are described in detail, for example, the dependence of the propagation speed of a signal in a cable on the speed of light, and much more.

And what difference does it make for what application these cables are, if they differ in the documentation and this is an obvious fact? And why can't you use or try to use some types of cables as speaker cables?

The trouble is that studies on speaker cables are not serious to say the least.
It depends on the people. You can do frivolous research, other people will have a serious budget for research and results.

On this very forum, people experimented with coat hanger wire, bananas, mud, etc... for transmitting audio signals from point A to point B. No audible difference was recorded. They must all be stone deaf, right?
