Tony,
Thanks for the reply - my problem is I have no more 0281 s and they are not available. I want to use a different device just until the 0281 s are available. Now I know I should have purchased spares....

Mouser has NJW3281G and NJW1302G, which look to be identical, except they are 200W parts, even in the TO3P package, so no one would even be able to tell.
Thanks. I will give those a try. I will also keep the dim bulb in until I am sure all is well!!
Just remember to lower your bias 10-12mV before you pull the DBT, then immediately check bias and set properly without it.
And watch it for a couple hours as others have mentioned.

i encourage you to learn how to look at device datasheets, it is not so hard to do and learn...
with your DBT hooked up, you are safe from magic smoke...

congratulations.......once you get up and runing you will realize that that is all there is to it...
Many thanks to all on this forum who helped me with my HB build. I love this amp. It has been up and singing for about five days now. I may up the bias a bit after a few weeks. The heat sinks stay below ~90ºF most of the time. Here are a few photos. I forgot and closed it up before taking a shot with the wiring cleaned up and secured. This is a dual mono build with two AN5445 500 VA, 45 volt transformers and two DIYAudio power supply boards with 54400 mf per channel for a total of 108800 in the amp. I used NJW3281/1302 for the outputs.

Ralph, congrats on finishing! I've been building mine since 2015. Kind of fell to the side when I tore my house down to rebuild! Is that a 5U Chasis?
Yes, that is the 5U. I took about five years to finish mine. Retirement gave me the time to get it done, so don't give up.
Here is my next Honey badger. It will take some time before it is ready. This time it will be a 2 ch amp to drive the fronts in my HT setup. And move the 5ch honey badger to center and 4 back ch. It will be a dual mono setup with a single 800VA 4x40V sec transformer and 80.000uF cap bank for each ch. The chassis is home made, build around a 3U modushop frontpanel, and modushop 3U 400mm heatsinks.

Nice job Ralph, may I ask what size riser panels you used?
I think I used the 180mm for the platform and the 90mm for the side supports. I did have to cut down the side support risers to lower the whole platform. I bought a handful of the risers several years ago when I got the chassis and spent several hours trying out different possible layouts and mocking up ideas. With the two large transformers even the 5U box is tight. Notice the PSU boards hang off either side of the platform. I had a hard time getting the bridges and other parts and the platform all installed. Access to the trimmers on the amp boards is also limited - I use a plastic screwdriver for adjustments and have to contort my hands to hook up probes.....
