DIY Sony VFET pt 1

Current plan is that there is only one entry window, and winners for both batches will be drawn from those entries (no double winners allowed).

So you can set your alarms, get your post in and relax - you entry will be used for both drawings.

There will be some stragglers keen to try for batch 2, so I'll re-open the lottery thread again for 15 minutes just before the second drawing (no dates on that yet).

I doubt that there will be much difference between the N vs the P versions. Please exclude winners of the first lottery from the second.

I’m plotting to win a kit, knowing that I have a set of both N, and P JFets already.

The version for the “other” SITs will be a standard stock item, not part of the lottery - the lottery is only for the amp kits WITH the vintage Sony Vfets included.

All the people who have been saving their Vfet devices for the perfect project will have it, soon.

And buy up those vintage pieces as fast as you can before the price triples.

yep, but the chances of finding any are as good as finding B-1/C-1 part units.

I just wonder how many Pass designs have been built by members here over the past 20 years, totally mind boggling. Anyone care to have an educated guess!!

Can the power supply filter used in this design also be used with good effect in other First Watt amplifiers? Meaning, could you use the Meanwell 24V switching power supply (used in the Amp Camp Amp) with this filter to power, say, an F5 and get good results?
