Reminds me of Einstein the African Gray parrot who knew the meaning of most of the words it knew. He could use the words it knew to request things like having it's cage moved or saying it would like to go for a car ride ! The researchers who worked with Einstein were even thinking about trying to teach him to read when he unexpectedly died of a stroke or a heart attack.
What may need to happen is that this thread gets renamed to "DIY Sony VFET lottery discussion" and another started to actually discuss the amp! Because we really want the discussion to be more on the amp and its niceties rather than the lottery 🙁
edit: I wrote this a few messages ago and not as a reply to the ongoing conversation, sorry... this thread moves FAAAAAAST!

nicoch58 and Dudeisms, thanks for the replies! Got to get back to work, but both options sound promising.
good news for this spring, thank you to the whole diyaudio store team as well as to M nelson pass
May the force be with you

Apparently a lottery for a limited edition Nelson Pass diy kit is what it takes to motivate me to start posting on diyaudio.com...
I am officially no longer only an introverted lurker!

I set alarm, remind, note on phone. I set a meeting for myself even on my company email system at a meeting location diyaudio with a speaker called Nelson Pass.
I did a quick search for "lottery" and scrolled through the diyAudio homepage looking for a good thread for a "practice post" (figuring I couldn't be the only person who will be a first-time posting for a chance to win), but everywhere else felt even less relevant. Hopefully it was at least slightly witty. 😉
Yep, I knew this was an endeavour of skill, not chance. Sorry folks, we have had to postpone the lottery, shh, no one tell Jason.
Won't be entering the lottery. Contacted the store for the kit and chassis. Good luck to everyone!

Does it make a difference where the H2 comes from?
I am very much enjoying my B1K. Thanks, Nelson!
I understand that this VFET-based power amp also generates rich H2. I'm trying to understand whether H2 produced by a VFET would be audibly better/different than that produced by the B1K driving a low distortion power amp?
I recall Nelson saying that H2 is best used sparingly. So is this VFET power amp being driven by B1K too much of a good thing?
Thanks for all the generous contributions on this web site!
Richard.

Depends on your speakers and listening habits. Try it and see what you think. If you don't like, there are many other preamps that can do the job.
First post. Want to say a big thank you to Nelson and everyone who has helped with these projects over the years. Kits like these are what gave me the confidence to finally try building an amplifier and now I'm hooked.
Good luck to everyone.
