But seriously, it's probably his surface mount soldering setup. Some use a toaster oven, but that's too easy..HE can adjust the heat perfectly by fanning harder.

Would be logical, to me!
He is already at 'the other end'
with his www.firstwatt.com project
( the thought is that: the first 1 watt of an amplifier
is the most important watt
A good performance around the zero-level with minimal crossover disturbance
is one factor in amplifier designs )

Your logic is irrefutable. I was just looking at a large pile of
big toroidal transformers this morning, wondering what to do
with them, and since public participation on the "Pass Monster"
has not yielded a result, this would be a good time to do
