DIY F2 clone

I would suggest reflowing the solder joints on and around the input cap or try replacing it but P1 also sounds suspect. Do you have any DC on the output (although you really shouldn't). Perhaps output elytic cap has dried?

The amp is 75% resistors which don't fail all that often, especially with it just being in storage so I would check for failed caps and then active components next. Do you have a parts tester?

I took a 10 year break from diy after our first child as well. Welcome back 🙂 to the rabbit hole!

I thought about it more last night and came to the same conclusions. Must be a bad capacitor or solder joint.. I'll check the pot, too.

If a fet was bad, it would just be bad, right? I've had a ton of cmos chips and op amps half die on projects over the years , with odd symptoms like this. Intermittent. Works when you touch it. Those are the worst to diagnose...

Thanks! I hope to clear all the lego's off my workbench some day soon 🙂.
