Huh? All good TLs tend to suck away the back wave, so improve the midrange since not as much timesmeared stuff is coming back thru the cone.
I am not enthised by PMCs TLs.

Dave is the person behind www.t-linespeakers.org (along with www.frugal-horn.com www.planet10.com www.frugal-phile.com and also hosts my www.woden-design.com site for which he draws all the plans). So transmission-lines / quarter-wave / horns etc. are very definitely his cup of tea. 
He's been a fan since the 1970s. What he means is that the majority of competently designed TLs have little in the way of box colouration in the midband (external effects notwithstanding): being well damped and with a velocity maxima at or near the terminus, it's the nature of the beast. You'll find quite a number of projects on this forum alone that use dedicated midTLs etc. too.
