I made a amplifier testbed.
Transformer, bridge and caps inside an open case with some fibreglass on top to put pcb on.
First pcb design hummed badly and the grounds were all correct.
Just turned out to be transformer too close to pcb and high impedance input was picking up the magnetic field.
Moved transformer about 4 inches away and problem fixed.
