Folks:
I'm not sure what I've done to cause this problem, but Daphile keeps switching Players on me, preventing me from playing any music.
Here's what's happening: I have two Daphile systems and both are exhibiting the same problem. Daphile switches the Player listed in the lower right corner of my screen from the connected DAC (listed as Schiit USB Audio Device in the basement system (an older Bifrost) and Schiit USB Audio Device Gen 2 in the living room system (a newer Modi Multibit)) to HDA Intel (basement) and HDA Intel PCH (living room) every time I try to load some music. If I switch back to the DAC and try to load music into the player, Daphile takes a minute or so and then first changes the player to HDA Intel or HDA Intel PCH (depending on the system) and then loads the music.
What gives?
All suggestions appreciated.
Regards,
Scott

The problem I was experiencing has resolved itself. I didn't fix it; the problem simply stopped happening. If anyone has a clue, please educate me.
Hi. I am having the exact same problem with my 3040. Did you ever figure this out?Hello
I am having difficulties installing Daphile 64, also 32 bit too, to a thin client with a eMMC flash chip soldered to the motherboard. It is a Dell/Wyse 3040, a nice small pc. It runs fine from usb but will not show an internal HDD to install to. I have tried deleting partitions on eMMc and also tried ext4partitions. No go the internal drive does not show up at all. Has anyone any advise as to how to install to the eMMc.
Help appreciated.

Cheers 😛

Please see my prior post #4812 i obtained a 3040 off fleabay it had a linux thin client os on it...the emmc was greyed out , in the 3040 bios is an option too erase on next reboot i just did that and re-ran daphile install from usb and was able too install too onboard emmc !..
this unit works well running a Modi 3+ dac!
All the best

Hey. I did read your post a few hours ago. Whenever I try that option it never does anything on reboot. It just boots as normal 🙁
EDIT: Maybe because the drive is already unpartitioned?
EDIT2: I just formatted it as NTFS and then tried to do the wipe... It just boots as normal 🙁

Does your 3040 have a linux distro allready on it?
Mine did so it probably had ext4 format on it
if you can format it too ext4 that may help?
Not sure if daphile deals with NTFS?

It had the normal Dell thinos install.. but I cleared it in the daphile boot options. Ill try ext4. Daphile sees it in the storage section and can format it there. Strange.
Been messing with it for about 4 hours. About to give up lol

EDIT: Cleared it with Daphile boot options .. STILL nothing.......... 🙁 heh

Daphile requires an Unformatted drive. Presumeably so no one is ever going to overwrite their xyz install and complain.Hey. I did read your post a few hours ago. Whenever I try that option it never does anything on reboot. It just boots as normal 🙁

Don't just wipe, don't format, just leave unformatted and Daphile will recognise it.
Yea. That is what i am doing. I have tried every combination possible. It will not let me use the EMMC to install. It shows up in storage as unformatted but NOT in the drop down box for install.
I did notice that in Daphile's setup clear drive options that there are two 1.4mb drives underneath it. Maybe those are partitions of the EMMC? They do not show up anywhere else, and Daphile is unable to clear them.
Gonna try manual partitioning the drive, I guess.

I have used in the past a program called global boot and nuke for wiping hardrives. dont know if it works with solid state, thats how long its been since i used it.
it boots off of a cd or whatever and blasts any info on all drives it finds, even partition tables. it writes and erases random 1s and 0s to every sector, iirc, and takes many HOURS to complete its task. I used it before recycling old hard drives for security purposes.

Thanks. I've wiped it a few times now though.
I tried to manually partition it... sigh GParted says "gparted invalid magic number unaligned pointer" after I boot it :/
Then I booted into Puppy Linux and tried GParted from there but it will not let me name the partitions the way Daphile requires ... I can only label them.
About to hulk smash this box!! lol
I know I could just run VIA USB.. but there are only 2 USB ports in the back. I need them both and do not want a flash drive in the front 🙁

And the problem has returned. Can anyone explain what I need to do to correct this issue?

Are you trying to install Daphile on the 3040. If so dont smash it as I was at the same stage.
Daphile now installed.
Let me know and I will connect mine and try to find notes.
I want to use npnp/plan bridge, Alougu I add repos " http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/lms-plugins-philippe44/dev/repo-sf.xml" in the plugin, and I see the media-server Iogs are time out when get fetch, so who can tell me where I can add the proxy on daphile or which folder I can copy the file in.
question ;-)
why daphile returns to "output level is fixed at 100%" each restart when i choose and apply "volume controls adjust outputs" in volume control ?
thks

Have you installed or are you running from the downloaded image ?
If the latter then no changes are saved between reboots. It is for testing only and you need to install (even if only to another flashdrive) to have changes made permenant.
