Daphile - Audiophile Music Server & Player OS

I have been using daphile for some time and really enjoy the quality. I have recently upgraded the platform to amd 5800x, gigabyte b550 aorus master motherboard and jcat xe USB interface. When first configured daphile would see my holo may dac and offer dsd512. Now, with no changes, and after about 3 months of use, it only sees dsd64 and dsd128. What would be causing this?

Note I have also recently installed the latest gigabyte bios and daphile release with no change.

For those who are interested I find the amd sound more natural than the digital Intel sound.

Hello everyone. I've run into a new problem after using Daphile very happily for several years on several different PCs.
Just tried to set up one that I hadn't used for a while, updated software, all good, except that it doesn't "remember" the networking settings. I have got it to work fine on wireless in that I can unplug ether net and its all OK, but if I turn off and turn on again, it won't connect, and on plugging in ethernet, there are no stored network settings.
Any ideas? I'm familiar with setting static IP and setting wireless password, etc, and never had this problem before. Presumably they are stored in config file on the daphile partition?
Thanks
Mark

Ah! Of course - thanks. I'll give it a try.
No, I don't think it's that. The BIOS remembers the date and time perfectly well, and Daphile remembers every other aspect of the setup. I'll try another version of the software. This is the only 32 bit PC I'm using, so I haven't used a 32 bit version for a while - otherwise I'd just swap the USB stick from a PC on which I'm running it from USB. Thanks again for help.

Well I've tried two previous releases, and it's not saving anything even when I leave it powered on and just save and reset. I seem to recall problems in the past when updating via /cgi-bin/Devel, so I'll try from scratch with a USB image, unless any other ideas?
Thanks

Just to check...if you run Daphile from the live usb media then nothing is saved between boots.
Daphile needs to be installed..either to another usb drive for a persistent live bootable drive...or to a hard-drive.
I guess this is not the problem but covering all bases 🙂 especially if you haven't used it for a while.

Yes, thanks, I had installed it. I started from scratch with a formatted HDD and a new bootable USB drive, and thought it was OK - seemed to save first time, and I rebooted with just the wireless a couple of times to set up olugins etc, but then third time it didn't appear, and checking with wired etherrnet, everything lost again. Mystery. Never mind, it was just for spare.
Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure quite what happened, but I recently updated my wifi setup, finally got everything working in Daphile last week, and this morning, notice that none of my saved radio stations want to play. They all appear to run for 10 seconds, then back to 0:00. I don't even see the feature to search for radio stations anymore. I just see the Tune in URL feature and that doesn't work. Anyone seen this issue before? I also restarted the server but no change.

Hi,

I'm new to Daphile and I'm struggling to add apps - mysqueezebox refused to connect from the AppGallery section?

I have tried putting my Squeezebox creds in the Advanced section but I dont think Daphile can resolve mysqueezebox.com

I've updated to 21.10b171106-x86_64

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

T
Having same issue. How did you resolve this? Thanks

Hej, im using daphile now for about a year and its working perfect. Now i bought a USB port from Elfidelity , the AXF-100 Pro III for better sound from de usb.
Daphile dont recognise the usb port, wath can i do? now notting about linux...
In the bottom right of the main window there is an icon for the connected and available output devices. Click on it and you should see a list of options. Is your USB

ELFIDELITY AXF-100 PRO III Internal USB Power Filter for PC

listed there ?

IIUC that card is just a filter for the USB power line, with USB port taken from the standard onboard USB3 port. It has nothing with software or operating system.

Thank you!!! \\192.168.11.40\music works!

I've got a list of music folders....ok next dumb question....how do I copy/paste these to a folder on my local machine?
I'm also trying to access the music share from Daphile on my Win10 laptop:
  • On Daphile: Settings / Storage shows the music share with identification 'Music' and share ticked
  • On the Win10 laptop I add a new network location with \\<IP address>\music and can successfully connect
The only issue I have is I only see a .tmb folder with 2 .png files and a webpage which brings up the Daphile UI. I don't see any music folders even though I have thousands of both .mp3 and .flac files.

Do I need to enable anything else on Daphile to make these visible via Samba?

Folks:

I have a really strange problem that I cannot fix that seems to be connected to Daphile. I have two Daphile servers and a Synology NAS. The servers have no local music storage; everything is on the NAS. I discovered that one of the CDs burned on the NAS was corrupted (each song on the CD started out fine but, mid-song, switched to an entirely different song on a different CD by another artist), so I deleted the corrupted CD from the NAS. I then rescanned both servers' library using the "Clear library and rescan everything" option expecting to no longer see the corrupted CD. I also rebooted both servers. The CD has not been reburned onto the NAS. Daphile's File Manager no longer lists the deleted CD but Daphile's Audio Player still lists it. I have confirmed the corrupted CD was deleted from the NAS (it was deleted from the Synology app and confirmed as deleted using Finder). Here's the really weird part: the deleted, corrupted CD can still be played from Daphile's Audio Player, and the songs are still corrupted.

What is going on?

Regards,
Scott
