Hi Halook,
I am encountering the same issues as yours :
- Did you fix them ? Can you help me ?
Hi Domi_78,
I gave up using the coaxial input. USB works fine for all frequencies including DSD playback via Win7+JRiver or Win8+Jriver.

Cheers
Hi Halook, Quanghao and Danny_66,
- Finaly, via XP+Jriver, my USB Amanero board also works fine with the DAC for all these frequencies : 44.1Khz (44), 48Khz, 88.2Khz (88), 96Khz (95), 192Khz (191) and 352.8Khz (352), (displayed frequency).
- Did not try 176.4Khz and 384Khz but I am confident...
- The problem is that all my music is served via a SqueezeBox Touch. So I absolutely need this DAC locks up to 192 KHz on coaxial or AES/EBU inputs.
Thank you for your help.

Did you try the toslink out of the touch?
Other than USB, Toslink is the only other input I tried, and it works for me at 44 and 96.

Running ES9018 DAC on first stage
Hi Quanghao,
Yes, I've made two your ES9018 DAC kits.
I've joined a DIYMania.NET which are the amateur community for DIY audio in Korea.
You can find the first one that discuss this:
http://diymania.net/bbs/board.php?bo_table=pj_ES9018&wr_id=3
I'm sorry for being Korean article only, but you'd be simply understand all.
The sound is vey good : well balanced, many information in music.
I also found some problem in your DAC kits.
- SPDIF input is not working with my CD transport using CD-PRO2 module
- when select the button in display PCB, it may not work normally due to chattering
- the output gain is small compared by common audio product.
SPDIF problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zx6o0fhlt2liw66/spdif-problem.png
(I hope that you would be look over spdif input schematic again)
The second one:
http://diymania.net/bbs/board.php?bo_table=pj_ES9018&wr_id=13
http://diymania.net/bbs/board.php?bo_table=pj_ES9018&wr_id=18
I added I/V output stage + input transformer + my buffer module + output transformer.
- iv opamp : ad797 dual(first stage) , opa134 dual (second stage)
- line input transformer : maded by pikatron (it obtained from pro audio console^^)
- line output transformer : not known (it also obtained from pro audio console)
The sound is better than first one : it's more natural sound^^
Thank you Quanghao and Andrea for this nice project.
Regards,
David Kim.

I think you found the SPDIF problem that people are having, 10uf is too big a cap, takes too long to charge, which is why the pulses look like that in (3).
Thanks for figuring this out.
I bet if people change that cap to a 0.1 like you recommend, all would be well.
Did you change the cap, and try it again?
Randy
Hi kgkim!
Your information is very valuable, Congratulations on your forum!
Extremely thank you! Your DAC AND beautiful!

Welcome to you!.
all you broken chasis and board IV, I will send you one of the damaged components. I'm waiting for the shield, a few days it will be to me.
I will send for you soon! Please be understanding and wait!
Thank you very much! And look forward to ignore failures, errors transporting this!
All of the damage caused by shipping, I will not be compensated Fedex, so I declare very low value to avoid the import tax for you!

Hi Randy,
Maybe I am wrong...
The two concerned caps are serigraphied C35 (AES/EBU input) and C36 (Coaxial input) and C7 on the schematic :
- These caps are not soldered on the PCB and they are replaced by a strap

I'm at work now, and from here I can't look at the dropbox files, and I definitely can't look inside my DAC.
Are you saying that instead of C36, there is a wire?
From what I remember, that would short the signal to ground. If that is the case, it definitely won't work.
Try removing the wire?
I think it would work with no cap installed, although it is probably better to have a small cap for filtering in that position.
Randy
Hi Randy,
- I have attached some pictures to my previous post.
😕
I thought it was a filter cap, but it's not.
Looks like they made provisions for a cap in case it was required, but then they decided it was not required?
To add a cap, you would need to cut the trace.
What does the "working" circuit look like, in comparison?
BTW, are you able to try toslink, at least to see if that works.
I did try the Toslink input on mine but it was not able to lock upper than 44.1 KHz.BTW, are you able to try toslink, at least to see if that works.
- This may be due to my long (10 meters) and cheap optical fiber.
The smc marked "C14A" is a LMV7219 from TI
