DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

@Tea-Bag , this is correct.
Do you mind showing a picture of your JLSounds board?
This is a photo of my USB to I2S converter. Not sure if it is the "JLSounds" you mentioned.

Nope but we give an answer to a member who asked for this board (JLSOUNDS, which is a brand) he has and many people also have as it has given subjecctive good results. Amanero cheap copies has given subjectivly less good sounding results. Often SPIDF is best avoided for final sounding quality.

You migth have more answers if you read the thread in spite of poping up here out of context.

The little spidf/USB board you show looks like a Sygnalyst, btw. Pretty.

Just the way I see it at least, as people have high enough expectations being audio educated. 🙂 You will learn a lot at reading the thread.

Thank you
I roughly understand what you mean.
I see that "JLSounds" is a "USB bridge" based on the XMOS XU208 master chip.
The function is the same as my DIY CT7601PR converter.
When "MCLK" is not used to provide the clock signal for the DAC, there is no difference in the sound quality between the two.
At least I think so.

But if MCLK is needed, maybe XMOS will perform better because it is based on an external crystal to provide the I2S master clock signal.
