DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

They are among the best you can find, while I there are others.

AD8597, I told already, is the AD797 in cheap cause just 0.2 nV difference, more modern, as good and neutral and ten times cheaper.

The two others should replace the one that is a lack of time : op627, op1611,

The rest in you list is worthing it said numerous diyers.

I will beginn with 1655, LT1028 and AD811, as they are 3 different philosophy for that I/V task.

Maybe something brown-dog adapter will help you and makes the task easier before a better soldering near the substrate. I don't know here in the forum if someone made gerbers for single soic to Dip 8 adapters ? Could be handy. ( a double channel tosingle exists by Vunce).

As said Brijac, you should perhaps according your system not like exactly the same op amp between the DAC ic you use. The two ideal chip for the task imo are the LT1028 and the op861 (not pin compatible with others op amps); some like the "sound" of th AD811 from Walter Jung artile digged up by Grunf here. I know V. made a board here; He seems to like it better than the op861 and 1656 but for the AD1862.

It's all I can say. But if happy with the tube, try a better tube with the monney of the op amps ???? I don't know! ! It's like the food, at the ned you want to taste it all !

Vunce has made a better for soic operation, it is a soic double channel towards single channel pins arangement : you don't need two double channel op amps for a single channel. This pcb I didn't looked to in detail seems more to be a double single channel towards a standalone double channel ? Or maybe it was made for the miro's board for a double channel towards two single channels footprints ??? Not clear !

This bulky pcb migth not be good for some fast op amps cause too far from the pcb ground, imho. For the less fast maybe good enough.

Better option is to read the thread and the datasheets of the op amps, AD811 does not work like a 1655. Op861 is not standard footptint, etc.
 
This pcb designed for miro tda1541 and very simple 😁.
I will test 8920 and 49720 dual opamp .

You can using one dual op amp on center of pcb .
opamp A Channel for left channel output .
opamp B channel for right channel output .
dac I-out and op amp voltage connect with pin header from main pcb .
-12 v from pin 4 left channel and +12v from pin 7 right channel.
 
Built the negative rail of the PSU mini today while I wait for the postive regulators to get here. Works great. The fine trimmer gives about +-0.8v of adjustment. I might have missed it but are there values for +-18 volts? Or is that to close to the upper limit of these regs. Thanks

I was looking for a rare chip MN1404STE and came across utsource.net they seem to be able to source chips lile PCM1704, AD1862, AD1865 does anyone here has an experience with them?

I think it is a gamble. Some members have reported ok experiences with them, while some warned against them.

18V is still fine for lt1963 since 2vdrop is more than enough. But i'd go a little bit below 2V. Lt3015 is fine for even more.

Brijac had posted such adaptor board. Small and compact.
I think tda1541a has normal, not offset footprint for dip8 sockets. He can't use the one i made for the rest of the miro dacs.
 
For those running PCM63 DACs, do you have any strong views/experience with powering the digital and analog sides of the IC with separate power supplies vs something like Miro's PSU2 where ground/transformer secondaries are shared between the two 5V sides? I seem to recall the datasheet suggesting no benefit.
 
Can some kind soul remember where the Amanero to UFL adapters are hidden in the thread? Or the person who did them - @Brijac was this one of yours?

And i think it is also useful to take note :
