DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

Hello Vunce, yes. Which i didnt expect. After trying out the new one, i have placed order for another unit last week.
Member Gaycoh has contacted JLSounds to enquire about the difference and JLSounds has mentioned that there is no difference in the isolation when two separate psu are used for the board. I was not tempted to get another board when i tried the previous board. Not that it does not sound good -- it sounds good to me. However when i tried the new FIO board this time, i feel it sounded much more refined than the previous board... and i started to think of getting another. I did not take much effort to discern the improvements of the new board.

Zoom just to clear things about JLSound boards differences old=jumpers configuration new=smd?
Hi, the means of configuration is still the same , using jumpers on header pins and also zero ohm resistors. However, when the new board is used as i2s, all the jumpers on header pins (connector H5, designated as J1-6) and the bridging zero ohm resistors (A-G) are left open.

What i am trying to bring up is that the way of connecting the jumpers and resistors for the new FIO versus the previous board is different.

And that resistor R13 on Miro's board with JLSounds board on top is no longer required if one is using the new JLSounds board with the FIO designation.

Reactions: miro1360 and Vunce
Another day, another DAC project.
Just received my TDA1541 boards, along DC blocking and dual to single boards. Once I complete this one it will be three DIY DACs designed by @miro1360 that I have built. I am highly satisfied with the performance of AD1865 and AD1862 DACs I am sure I will be equally happy with TDA1541.

I couldnt find a reliable source locally to get TDA1541 so with luck found SONY CDP-750 and CD-950 both of them have TDA1541 not the A or S1, S2 version but still 1541. Bought both of them from local market for $10 and $15 and decided to sacrifice both of them and pull out TDA1541 chips.

Here are the sacrificial boards

@miro1360 I have noticed that the dual to single boards can only be used for AD1862 and AD1865 DACs and not the 1541. Anyway miro I am thankful to you for your continuous support of DIY community and TBH the quality of DACs in terms of sound is better than most of the commercial DACs.
