Now, just someone dare to buy one piece and try it to see if it works. I corresponded with the seller, he will not guarantee that the chips are original, that is, he did not test them at all. So it could be that it's just a cat in a bag, and maybe they are good. Maybe someone took any chips, sanded and stamped AD1862 N-J. Since I have a few pieces of AD1862, I am not interested in trying it.

The AliExpress seller above responded no stock. The percentage of positive feedback actually took some confidence away from me.
I told you guys, buy the AD1862 as long as they are available at that price, because this thread will make them so popular that someone will buy them all and then sell them at higher price, or will make some kind of DAC out of them.
This thread will be included as a marketing reference 🤣 These DACs are so good and complex, that it's almost impossible to make them cheaper (and better) even in 14-bit precision as discrete design (from resistors and transistors).
If you have some extra money, you can still invest in the AD1865 from rocelec, and maybe TDA1540P from ebay (used parts, 25€ for piece), these chips are also very good and still available at fair price.

Ad1865 is an amazing chip. I don't feel it is any inferior to the others, AN had the same perception as well. To them difference in price to make their best dac with 1862 was neglible, so theres that. It sounds to me, most analog out of the bunch. It just needs some more care than the rest (which can be said for tda1541a as well).
yes, showcase your board, come on 😍Properly powered ad1865 is a real little beast. Directly fed with low zout regs like tps7a4/3 at load supply pins onboard, crazy performance. So not that big of an issue with ad1862 stock 🙂 Although rochester may have just pulled them out of digikey marketplace (yes it's marketplace, they don't sell directly). So there may still be a chance that they will appear somewhere as rochester stock.
colleagues, what's the difference between "N" type and "N-J" type ? For both 1862 and 1865
Hey, here in EU digikey sells at multiples of 13... Would someone do a group buy? How does it work?

He has shown it to me in private. I think it is very well designed board. Perhaps Brijac is too shy to show it here.yes, showcase your board, come on 😍
It is a part of a project i'll probably publish these days. Got to say miro started the fire 🙂 Theres going to be a nice little audio diy workshop with streaming, videos etc. to heat up the diy community a bit. Heres a sneak peak, because i'm not shy 😅 Just didn't want to intrude miros thread.
Playing most of the time atm, digital stage by stack on jlsounds direct drive. Small box, 11x10cm, 10 regulators total. Has a stack with shift registers for other usb/spdif boards.

I think the problem lies in Rochester. Digikey is only mirroring the stock level at Rochester.
The AD1865 is still available on Rochester website and it is reflected on Digikey :

@Michelag I own both version of the AD1862 chip and only the NJ version of the 1865..... and maybe i am fortunate that i could not hear any difference between the two AD1862 versions.
Hmmm so in Digikey EU, order still can be done for AD1862?

I completed the second unit, which was intended to be more economical, and also as a partial by-product of the first unit. When I was constructing the first unit, I made some changes and tried to implement them all in the first one. It sounds great.
