DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

I ordered some new sockets for the chips but wonder if something else is off. Even if a squeeze on the chip made the DC offset disappear and music appear, the offset returned after restarting the DAC. I reflowed the sockets and am uploading a few photos in the hope someone spots something wrong.

Cheers -

Did you merge these two "GND" pins together? #6563  ... also connect the +-12VA ground to the power supply ...
Did you test the output with a simple opamp? (Like NE5534)
Disconnect power supplies and measure with multimeter short mode each pin of PCM63 (make only slight touch on the pin) with another pin/pad on correspondent component or on the PCB. (do the same for opamps).
Do you have a digital analyzer or scope for directly checking the input pins of PCM63, if data are flowing from the jlsounds? ... if not, you can let the music play and test it with multimeter (voltage - DC or AC) - play music, stop music and see difference.

"Bingo". Ground from the JLsounds card was not correctly connected. With that corrected, the DC offset is down to <10mV and music is flowing. I feel embarrassed to have messed this up but am glad the pcm63's are OK.

A profound Thank You to all of you who helped troubleshoot.

Cheers,
Soren

@EUVL There is not another version, I designed all these DACs only for public :giggle:
What I was not satisfied with ended up in the trash without sharing - mainly all discrete DACs 😁 (precision of resistors is a limiting factor and making good switches is ... not worth at all)
