I got this S/pdif / I2S intreface that I´m goingt to use with this Dac,but it has 4 leads out(BCK,Data,LRCK and Mck).
Wheras this Dac only has 3 in. (Bck,Data and LRCK) what to do with the Mck?
You can ignore it, or you can use it to reclock immediately before the DAC. But get it working with just the 3 lines first.
Hi, guys. I just placed my order on Mouser and Nichicon is out of stock (FG, KZ). I will buy them on other place and everything else is available. KW probably available but I don't know - never used them. I like a FG series (used them in headphone amp) and Silmic 2.
Also told me about this board for amanero
https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005002438378909.html- what do you think? Is there also boards on AK chip with oled display
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003382221315.htmlIt will be work too?
I order details only for Dac board without PSU.

All bad caps for me, good news they are not on stock... play with Pan FC, FR and Kemet in spite of... will give you room enough. The KZ is often short bass in many situation, FG doesn't sound good at all, Silmic Ii is boomy in the bass with a sort of rounded character there that is not lively and natural for decoupling oaps. Plus the layout of the KZ seems hard to use on the Miro board. The only Nichicon you could use for their good result enough is the KG...but idem too much big for the layout here and a Muse ES that is a bipolar so not needed in this design.
If you want absolutly Silmic II wich is a sorta of anti KZ, then go for the lower voltage that are a little less worse, so 16v for the 12 V rail and less for the the 5V rails...but I would stay far from them. Main of course. Whatever you choose , respect the pitch between leads to cope with the vias spacing.

I don't know the Panasonic but I was heard about Elna Cerafine (expensive series) and more diameter just like KZ. Also never use them. Some people use only Cerafine when possible.
I know them, I have some, I do not know based just on my experience why one would use them anywhere.
Caps choice depends on the circuitry at iso caps technology, on the system, i.e. how all that blend at the end as you hear the sum of all the devices. Some caps often give close results though whatever the circuitry. Caps are just diminishing return, but a good choice in relation to your system may compensate the sound. Some may find Panasonic too clear and transparent in some system for instance. You have to try in your systeme to know, as I have thousand caps of all brands if not almost all at all all voltage and capacitance, I permitt myself to try from many many years. Of course, take it with a grain of salt, again diminishing return, the mkst important is the design of the circuitry, oaps choice and dac chips quality...already discussed in the thread if you took the time to read it. You will not have bad surprise with the BOM. I personnaly chose FR caps for the dac chips and a mix for the oaps. But the choice of caps beginns as soon as the smoothing cap.

I choose FG as a non-bright and well detailed capasitors. Also include a few FC Panasonic. Rest of FG I will buy from a local vendor in my country. Capasitors can be easy replaced if necessary.
I find the Pan. FC way better, much more dynamic,, clearer, without being smooth and much most detailled, not in the same league than the Nich. FG. But at the end it depends on the system, see caps as a compensation... try & error without soldering at the beginning may help. Desoldering is bad because of the pcb and vias size and it stress the caps with unneccasry heat and leads stress by removing. While in the same time I dunno what can someone find good with the FG... certainly not very detailed, just listen to a FC to understand. Anyway in your own system, the FG maybe the rigth cap, again there is no absolute better caps. KG are something else though, at least as a smoothing cap in PS area 😉

Interesting. All new capasitors have a burn-in period about 60-70 hours. That's a common fact. You can listen afterwards.
Hey guys!
Maybe, my question is not related to the thread, but let me ask, please.
WHat do you think, is the reclocker needed for my future streamer (RPi with Volumio as an example) or it's just a waste of money?
I'm going to connect it using the JLSound I2S over USB v.3.
I'm looking for this one: https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-...ule-pcm-32bit-768khz-dsd1024-dop-p-14758.html
Thanks!

Maybe I can answer a week later. Currently I’m using RPi with JLSounds, but I’ve already bought FiFoPi, and it is on the way. But anyone else has comparison of the two platforms, pleas share experience 😀Hey guys!

@sworder84 tme.eu has some capacitors (UKZ1E101MPM) ... you can try many brands, it needs a lot of testing effort

I want to get clarification, if using the PSU-2 all the power jumpers on the board should have 2R2 resistors installed instead of jumpers for best performance, right?
If I am not wrong one of the two regs datasheet is saying there should not be more than 3R3 in serie at the output in serie. Perhaps you could also can to try caps with more ESR and supress the 0,1 uF output film capacitor and only keep the local 0,1 uF on the dac board?
