Open Baffle is never user friendly to generic room acoustics. One reason why I gave up designing them, they can never be a open baffle design fits most of the room unlike enclosure design.
But then... hopefully in the future my fullrange divers would be used by customers on open baffle.
Also I have acquired new types of paper that is wood pulp based to develop a much refine version of my current fullrange.

Awesome to see your work.
I've tried many full range units, even the AERs (my favorite so far), but all of them need a dedicated woofer to get a decent low end. It's better to focus on a proper high end and have a higher fs than to try to get bass out of a FR unit and not succeed on either low or high end.

Thanks for the comments.
I might be working on a semi computer controlled voice coil winding machine.
But able to share the plans once i got it ready.

AER are very decent drivers, I admire them in term of design and simplicity. Same with lowther, the grandfather of all fullrange 😛
As for specifications most of the fullrange at 8 inch display similar characteristics in term fs and same xmax. Difficult to have the best of both worlds for fullrange. In a ported enclosure this 8 inch can go down to 55hz, but need a proper baffle step to compensate for the loss though.

WOW!!! Now THAT is some dedicated engineering! Awesome work! I don't have the tools, knowledge, or skill to pull of something at this level - I am REALLY impressed!
Thanks
I did spend quite a bit of money getting the jigs and fixture up, coming out with different bobbin design to assist on my winding.
Now I realized I need custom design winding machine to suit my needs. I been looking around for stepper motor, linear slide, lead screws... etc...

Made a pair of pure copper phase plugs, just for fun. Will be doing up the enclosure for year end Audio Show.

Inspiring work! I love the old-school phenolic spider and you have the high Qm to show for it. Do you intend to test it with Klippel eventually? It would be good from your design point of view to see the Bl(x) and Cms(x) curves.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The phenolic gives much higher qms and much more linear along its vertical movement. I had WT3 measurements below, wt3 isn't quite accurate(I had the older version). As for Klippel, I probably have no budget to acquire one right now. Majority of the budget goes into paper cutting machine, cnc routing. But will try with woofer tester 2 which i got a few years back, hope it still works

Yes sir, that is work you can be proud of!! I love the basket in particular, great work!
I made a retro style square face basket, like the old lowthers. 😀
I snap some pictures and post up here.
