Would it make any difference to round the rear edges of the compression chamber (see picture)??

Would adding braces inside the curved mouth break up the "sound bubble", or should all braces be external

As i am a "form follows function" type guy i would go external.
Anything in the path of a wave front affects it to a given degree.

Cheers Ron, that was a God (well, Ron)send. The appliance of science, at last. 🙂 You have mail.

BTW guys, at the risk of jumping the gun somewhat, I've worked up a provisional curve for Chilli-Chang. It'll probably need some adjustments, as I don't have Ron's talent, but I've sent the data to him for vetting, so it shouldn't be long before it's done now.

as I don't have Ron's talent,

I have no talent, just numbers.
All it is is expressing values in an x/y/z position at a given energy level at a given time. That gives a 3D view, you have to think in a 4 dimension sense.

The appliance of science, at last

I have to say that you have to consider any question from two perspectives. First is logic, the second is physics. When they meet , you have an answer.

Actually the name is KimChi Chang. As i understand it KimChi is a Korean dish similar in intent to Chili ... do we have a good Korean resturant in town? Wanna do lunch?

dave

Dave, having lived in Korea for slightly over one year I can tell you that chili and Kimchi are not similar in practically any way, short of any heat generated by the optional hot peppers.

I have never heard of a chili eater have their body throw off the residue of the contents of that food, to such an extent that it is powerful enough to physically knock over the non-kimchi eater. I am not exagerating here. The only antidote is to eat kimchi yourself for immunity purposes.

And don't get me wrong, I Love Kimchi. But if you eat enough of it, your entire body litterly reeks of garlic, to such an extint that it is almost impossible to be around the heavy eater. I could tell you some stories you would not believe. Just going to the barber shop, for a hair cut, was an ordeal. All the female barbers tried to mask the odor, but it was in the breath, out of the pores of the skin, and you just had to endure or go crazy. Or eat kimchi yourself, which was how I solved the problem.

People who have been around kimchi eaters will never forget what is was like, it's that impressive an event.

Incidentially, I was the battalion civil affairs officer, and around native Koreans all the time. I never once saw one with a cold or the flu. No chance of the virus surviving around all that fermented garlic, cabbage, and other additives.

Sorry for the OT here but I can't resist when you guys talk food.

Yes, but not what we call chili here.

I know nothing of KimChi... earlier in the thread we were only given a hint from gychang and one other poster... now i really gotta try some 🙂

The other poster was yours truly. Be afraid, be very afraid. I think the thing you will struggle with the most is the heat. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious but you might have trouble the next morning. It will be very spicy for white guys from the Island. Trust me.

Back to topic.
