Hi,
Years ago I owned Omega Speaker Systems speakers with Tang Band full range drivers that I liked. Today I have a pair of regular 2 way speakers in box enclosures with bass ports. I was thinking of converting these to a full range driver speaker if possible. I thought I could use a 6.5” full range driver to replace the woofer, bypassing the crossover and tweeter. Will this work? Thanks.

you can always close/stuff the port if it does not suit the fullrange
The question as to enclosure volume remains, and not all FR drivers are necessarily suited to - or give their best performance in - sealed enclosures. If this is the OP’s first foray into single driver speakers, it’d be unfortunate to hobble him/her with a generalization that could be bad advice for a specific model.

Those are the pictures of the speakers. They are about 14” x 11” x 9”. The woofers are 6.5” and I was thinking of using these:
Tang Band W6-2313 6-1/2" Coaxial Full-Range Woofer

14x11x9, assumming 3/4” material is about 14 litres.
That TB is a 2-way.
The FF165wk, Alpair 10.3/10p/12p could all be fitted and the tuning tweaked to work with the driver in that volume.

Thanks! I ordered a pair of these, can’t wait to try them out!
I went with the 10p. Here’s an internal pic. Looks like foam on the inside. F8C5AC31-C48C-4D61-90E3-78CDD6B39253 | Alon Wolman | Flickr

The ports will almost certainly need adjusting. Can you measure the exact dimensions of the existing ports? For that matter, were the measurements you provided outside dimensions?
In a 14 L cabinet, a 2 inch port, 5 inches long would give an F3 around 55 according to Bassbox.

It could restrict the bass performance, anything else?
F3 is a meaningless number to the ear/brain
Only to those who are trying to fool themselves or others that they are getting good bass when they're not
