I would be interested in the Conrad heat sinks if any are still available.

Like I said, I will post here on the forum with the exact amount of extra heat sinks once they arrive. I still do not know if Conrad has actually shipped yet, I have not received an email confirmation. I just sent them an email asking for shipping info. I'll let you all know once I hear more.

Hi Chris

Update please?

JimS

The heat sinks have arrived, but are stuck in customs. I've been dealing with customs for the last week, and they keep giving me the run around. I ended up having to higher a customs broker, and they have not returned my call regarding the release of the crate through customs. Friday morning was supposed to be the day I would get the shipment, but that never happened. I have had to pay overnight fees every night for the last week, and I am not happy with customs. Conrad generously offered to ship air for no additional cost because of the delays on their end. I worked with them to get the shipment here on the 28th, so it would fit in my holiday schedule. But now it's the 5th, and I've spent more time driving to and from Seatac than I would like. Hopefully I will have them this week, then I just have to unload (925 lbs!), and ship.

Hi Chris & others,

In order to complete the amp box, is it just a matter of purchasing 3mm top/bottom metal (say aluminium) + suitable front/back panels or would additional pieces such as braces be needed?

Thanks
Thermos

That should do it. The heat sinks are very solid, although I would probably go with something thicker for the front and back. Maybe not, but I intend make my front and back panel a good 5mm-7mm.

thermos-on my other amps i used .125 ( 1/8 ) inch material for top and bottom-chassis is very ridgid-with 1/4 '' for front panel--but use .1" ( 1/10 ) inch or less for back panel or your rca's won't fit without milling out some material-bubba

Customs finally released the crate, but first lost the paperwork that would have cleared the package sooner. I ended up having to hire a customs broker, customs refused to work with me on anything, they insisted I hire a broker. Argh. But it is not all bad news. Working with Conrad has been an absolute pleasure, and the packing job was superb. Last night I rented a truck to pick up the heat sinks, and managed to disassemble the crate today. I worked out how I am going to pack/ship, and ordered all the boxes and packing supplies earlier today. Should arrive mid Saturday, which gives me Saturday night/all Sunday to get orders ready to ship out on Monday. Anyone who would like to pick up heat sinks from my location in Seattle is welcome to this weekend, as I am not home much on the weekdays.

Extra heat sinks will be available soon, I would like to ship out the first batch before selling the extras. I ordered quite a few extra, as I had a feeling more people would want in later. Quick estimate... around 20 pairs extra.

Paypal at the ready...
